I have argued for real presence from Justin himself, so no incompatibility there (this is a historic Baptist view). But Justin precedes later Eucharistic developments in Roman Catholicism, like the substance/accidents distinction intrinsic to transubstantiation, communion in one kind, adoration of the host, etc.
Also, in general, Justin's picture of a Christian gathering appears spontaneous and communal. Calling this account "intimately Catholic" has to flatten out real distinctions. Better to just let Justin be Justin.

Gavin quotes Justin Martyr in his video saying the following:
“For not as common bread and common drink do we receive these; but in like manner as Jesus Christ our Saviour, having been made flesh by the Word of God, had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so likewise have we been taught that the food which is blessed by the prayer of His word, and from which our blood and flesh by transmutation are nourished, is the flesh and blood of that Jesus who was made flesh.”
This is simply not compatible with Baptist theology.

@TheresaArueyin1 I don’t drink alcohol as I believe it blocks the Holy Spirit from connecting to your mind and heart. I’ve seen this happen over and over again in the lives of Christian’s. What Spirit do we want? The “strange spirits” of alcohol, or Gods Spirit within us? Just my opinion…

I have no desire to drink alcohol. I don’t like it, and I don’t want to work into developing a taste for it.
I don’t mind if anyone else does. But don’t drink unto drunkenness, and don’t cause a brother to be tempted and stumble. In that case, it’d be better to not drink at all.
