Over these past few days, I keep coming back to him, to the excitement I felt when he was first announced, to the space I'd already quietly made for him, and to the realisation that space is now empty. I understand there are a lot of complicated factors behind this decision. But I want to ask, gently: is there truly no other way? Even a delay, even a long wait, would be easier to accept than losing him permanently. I also want to mention once more the people who created him. Their work is already done.
