I agree with the President’s decision to change leadership at the Department of Homeland Security. The safety of American citizens is the first priority of federal law enforcement agencies, and, like the vast majority of Americans, I support ICE’s efforts to deport criminal illegal immigrants. Under new DHS leadership, I am confident we will increase safety and transparency for ICE agents and the communities they operate in. In Congress, I will support common-sense measures requiring ICE agents to wear body cameras and uniforms, just as we do in Omaha. On the Omaha City Council, I’ve voted to hire more officers and increase their pay, while also implementing body cameras and expanding training. As a result, we have made Omaha one of the safest cities in America and a model for police-community relations. I’ll take that same approach with me to Washington, DC.

Rebecca and I are saddened to learn of the death of Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens of Bellevue, a Nebraskan who was killed in the line of duty serving this great nation. We are praying for his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We also remember Capt. Cody Khork, Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, and Sgt. Declan Coady, along with two additional soldiers whose names have not yet been publicly released. These brave Americans are heroes, and their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

For the past 47 years, we let a radical theocratic state play us and the world like a yo-yo. The Iranian regime funded terror around the world and subjected their people to horrendous conditions. I hope the Iranian people can experience the freedom they deserve, and peace will finally come to the Middle East. Only the radical left would think killing America’s number one enemy is a bad thing. I’m disappointed that my far-left opponent @JCavNE02 has a problem with the downfall of Iran’s terrorist regime. Then again, he is endorsed by The Squad.

Inflation has dropped from a 40-year high of 9.1% in 2022 to 2.4% today. And wages are growing faster than prices. Gas has fallen from an all-time high of over $5/gallon in 2022 to below $3/gallon today. Now, mortgages rates have fallen below 6% for the first time since 2022. The economy is roaring back, and the best is yet to come.

Freddie Mac's latest 'Primary Mortgage Market Survey' shows the average rate on the benchmark 30-year fixed mortgage fell to 5.98% from last week's reading of 6.01%. In Congress, I will always put American citizens first over illegal aliens. It’s a shame so many Democrats in Congress don’t accept this fundamental obligation to their constituents. President Trump and Republicans are focused on delivering results for Americans: growing wages and creating jobs, bringing down inflation, gas prices, and interest rates, making housing more affordable, keeping our border secure and deporting criminal illegals, driving our murder rate to the lowest level in 125 years, and bringing peace through strength to the world stage. We have more work to do, and I’m ready to do my part.
