As I have already stated; Catholic teaching, including Vatican II, directly counters anti-Israel stances like Carrie Prejean's that delegitimize the State of Israel, call it genocidal, or frame opposition to it as non-antisemitic while rejecting Zionism outright. All positions that often veer into bigotry or born from it. Vatican II's Nostra Aetate (1965), section 4, condemns antisemitism unequivocally, "the Church... decries hatred, persecutions, displays of anti-Semitism, directed against Jews at any time and by anyone." It rejects portraying Jews as rejected or accursed by God and affirms the shared spiritual patrimony between Christians and Jews. Full text: vatican.va/archive/hist_c… In 1993, St. John Paul II established full diplomatic relations via the Fundamental Agreement between the Holy See and the State of Israel, recognizing Israel's sovereignty and committing to combat antisemitism, racism, and intolerance together. It affirms cooperation and respect for both parties' rights. Full text: vatican.va/roman_curia/se… The Church upholds the irrevocable covenant with the Jewish people (Romans 11) and calls antisemitism a sin. While not endorsing theological Zionism (I don’t either), it has never taught that Jews lack a right to a homeland or that Israel should be erased - that is opposite to rhetoric singling out the Jewish state for delegitimization. Prejean's claims misalign with all this binding Magisterium. The Catholic Church demands rejection of hatred in all forms, truth, and reconciliation with our Jewish elder brothers. I don’t believe I needed to spell this out for you because you claim to be Catholic. What evidence do you have that the Catholic Church has changed its teachings and positioning with Israel or Jews since these were posited?

Catholics are called to reject antisemitism and the lies and conspiracies that fuel it, and to stand clearly against hatred and violence directed toward our Jewish brothers and sisters. To defend religious freedom with integrity, we must also reject antisemitism. @ArchbishpSample @archdpdx Watch the full video at: ow.ly/sYF550Yw6cA

Friends, on St. Patrick’s Day, let us honor this extraordinary man whose primary preoccupation was sharing the Christian faith with his people.

If we’re going to gatekeep in the conservative movement, the number one question that should be on the questionnaire is do you believe in the separation of church and state? Do you believe in the first amendment? If the answer to that question is no then you’re not a conservative. It’s really that simple all of this other stuff is meant to obfuscate from that one basic question. So at the end of the day that is the line for the gatekeeping, do you believe that everybody in this country should be free to worship according to their faith. If that becomes a radical idea on the conservative right, then we already lost.

The fight between traditionalist Catholics and deranged dispensationalist Evangelicals has started. The great cardinal Burke enters the battlefield. youtu.be/408wLQVioAk?si…
