I bet on golf, sometimes NASCAR.

North Carolina politicians on both sides of the aisle love to tout that NC is among the fastest growing states. They say we are attracting new businesses and sing praises to the fact that growth is booming our state’s economy - but they ignore what’s happening to their homegrown constituents and communities as a result. So let’s talk about what’s really happening to native North Carolinians thanks to the population boom: 👉🏼 higher crime rates 👉🏼 loss of culture 👉🏼 traffic jams 👉🏼 dwindling farmland 👉🏼 strain on all resources 👉🏼 increase in taxes 👉🏼 environmental destruction 👉🏼 political polarization 👉🏼 population replacement 👉🏼 a business sector that prefers transplant, immigrant, and illegal employees But why is that happening? Could it be that developers and politicians are purposefully gentrifying our state to line their own pockets? 🤔
