Our official X account @yiedlai was compromised. The attacker changed the password, disabled our 2FA, and enabled their own 2FA (we are locked out). He is running a fake airdrop and demanding $2,000 for the 2FA/code — this is extortion. Attached: screenshots with timestamps of chats demanding payment, links to cloned sites, and proof of ownership (company registration/emails / last known login IP, etc.). Please escalate to the Trust & Safety / Security team and disable the attacker’s 2FA so we can recover access. Ticket ID is ACCESS-9117510

By November 10, we’re asking all accounts that use a security key as their two factor authentication (2FA) method to re-enroll their key to continue accessing X. You can re-enroll your existing security key, or enroll a new one. A reminder: if you enroll a new security key, any other security keys will stop working (unless also re-enrolled).

### Steps to Re-Enroll Your Security Key for 2FA on X 1. Log in to X on web, iOS, or Android. 2. Go to Settings: Tap/click your profile icon > Settings and privacy > Security and account access > Security > Two-factor authentication. 3. Access Security Keys: Scroll to Security key section > Tap/click Manage security keys. 4. Delete Old Key(s): Select existing key(s) > Tap/click Delete > Confirm with password. 5. Add New/Existing Key: Tap/click Add security key > Enter password > Verify email if prompted (enter code from email). 6. Enroll Key: Click Start > Insert key (USB) or connect via Bluetooth/NFC > Touch key button when prompted. 7. Finish: Name the key if desired > Save. Test login to confirm. Note: Re-enroll all keys you want to keep before Nov 10, 2025, to avoid access issues. Backup codes are recommended as a fallback.
