I was blown away watching @_aysanabee_ play at @ReginaFolkFest’s concert the other night. Incredible performance, such rich stories in his music. Since I was in the 3rd row I watched from up close and I can’t stop wondering if he has Robbie Robertson’s bronze Stratocaster.

@megalindd @JohnKleinRegina @PDcityhall I should mention that there were other options suggested, like we could adapt the building by making a separate entrance for people who use wheelchairs that uses a shipping doc, but that is the type of ableist isolation which tends to make people feel ashamed & excluded

@megalindd @JohnKleinRegina @PDcityhall Yes, access is the biggest challenge for that building, the current ramp design and lack of washrooms on the main floor, and overall lack of wheelchair capacity in all the washrooms makes the building impossible to convert to ADA standards.

For those who're new… the question of the central library is nearly 20 years old. Library board has been saying consistently that they have to demolish the branch & build new. A vocal community of library advocates have been consistently saying restore the old building. #yqrcc

This platform is now a hot mess but I HAD to login to say Waxahatchee’s Tigers Blood album is so damn good!!! Her liner notes rung so true for me as a writer, she talks about needing to trust that our ideas will come: “… if they're not showing up, then it's just not time yet.”
