@LowmanLegend The guides and resources led to me having some of the most fun ever in gaming. Getting duo flaw Ron was one of my fav moments in gaming, as well as learning some dungeon and GM speeds. Without you helping popularise lowmans, I never would have had that fun. Thank you, Mr MJ, Sir

When I was 8 years old my dad remarried and I went from an only child to having 2 stepbrothers, one the same age as me but slightly younger and one 4 years older than me. I never had any issue connecting with my younger brother but I did with my older one, that was until about a year later when I saw him playing this game called Destiny that just had it's first DLC drop. Of course at 9 years old I wasn't allowed to play video games very much so I would just play on "my character" on his account/ This was one of the first things we ever truly connected over that allowed us to bring that "step" gap in being brothers and even though he doesn't play anymore we still have a closeness that can only come from years of playing a game together (which we eventually did when I got my own console.) Fast forward a few years (im 14 now) and my parents finally buy me playstation plus so I can finally play these "Nightfalls" and "Raids" ive heard so much about. I didn't really have any social media and I wasn't aware of the D2 lfg app so I mad a post on fucking iFunny of all places asking for people to raid and do nightfalls with despite not knowing what either really were much less how to do any of the raids in the game at the time (this was before crown was out.) Only managed to get 3 people that night I made the post who were thankfully my age and not the type of person you'd expect to find on iFunny and all we did that night was play Gambit, just for fucking hours, the first time I had ever played with people online and I think right there in the home between homes I was in with my very shitty setup I just fell in love with the game despite only really scratching the surface. Fast forward a few months I start talking with some classmates and somehow Destiny gets brought up and they tell me how they used to play but they don't really anymore, sadly for them I am a great salesman so I convince them to get back on the game for a bit so we can do Leviathan. Despite not really understanding what happened after my first clear I could tell that I had just been introduced to something life changing. Another of couple months go by (season of arrivals has come) and I realize im pretty good at raids, Ive learned all of the ones in the game currently and had been just playing them nonstop (I had found out about the d2 lfg on the app.) Well one day I got bored and went "I wonder what Gladd's raid report looks like" and I eventually find him admit the million accounts named Gladd and im like wtf are all of these rectangles saying "two man" and "three man flawless" and how do I get them. So I go to his youtube and start a deep dive at midnight on a school night and I go I could totally do this. Next day im forcing one of my friends to do duo calus with me and it took us 2 days of nothing but that but man when we cleared there was just nothing like it. Few weeks go by and I have done one additional lowman that being trio insurrection, I have all the raids flawlessed 6 man that have triumphs for it, but I know for a fact you can get tags on RR for flawless of the other raids, I wasn't able to convince my friends to do them because there was no ingame incentive so to the app I went. That's where one day I just saw a post that said "Flawless Levi lf4 kwtd" and I joined not knowing I had just made a life changing decision. In that Levi I met a longtime friend named simp, he was in a clan called EuropaTM and I inspected the bio like I always do and I see clan requirements for the first time, and in those reqs I see the words "lowmans" and "speeds" and I am like holy shit this is my in. Thankfully I had already met some of the prerequisites so I was able to get in pretty easily. Fast forward maybe a month, I've done everything in my power to be integrated into this clan, ive done basically all of the lowmans atp, im "farming" raids, I was not letting this opportunity slip by me and I knew I needed to do something big in order to be taken seriously. On PS at least the two lowmans that were only really done by the best players was duo sotp and duo flawless crown (large variance in difficulty but I didn't know that ofc) and I knew that I needed to get someone good to do these challenges with me, my friend simp didn't want to do them so I just started raid reporting people in the clan (cut me some slack please) and eventually I get to this guy who has a pink rectangle at the top of his RR, holy crap this guy is master speedrank wtf does that even mean. That guy happened to be the one and only Kronos. Fast forward 2 months where we basically hit the buzzer beater on clearing both of those right before the DCV hits, us being one of the like 3? teams on playstation to clear I was given the first taste of being a niche internet micro celebrity. I felt this as the high end PS players all used this one server for raiding lfg and I was given admin basically because I cleared COS lol. Well once given this position I actually started running the server because I noticed some things that could be made better and realized man I really like running these things. DCV hits, server is for sure struggling after that, it retired the big ps farmer who played exclusively sotp and once dsc came out there was really only one other "big" farmer that was running it. The game felt very bad because I had basically just been stripped of everything that made it whole to me. Then one day in class during I want to say near the end of chosen my phone just start blowing up, and I go to check it and it's Kronos restructuring his old personal server and im like wtf are you doing dude and he says "I wanted to start a server with guides teaching people lowmans and movement tech endgame players use." My eyes lit up I knew right then and there this was the start of something incredible and I WAS going to be a part of it. So over the course of about a month Kronos and I built the server "The Codex" (named by yours truly) we released it to a whopping 200 members on the first day, vog came and went, bolstered our numbers, guides were written by me under the my desk at school typed on my phone 😭. What changed everything though was a few months later when crossplay happened, off of a sudden we had pc and xbox players joining and the server jumps to 700 members 🙀. During this great joining though I was fortunate enough to meet people like Shifu, Moople, Nick, Kako, Eli and they showed me that there are levels to this shit 🤣 my 16 year old ego was humbled so quickly. This was the ground floor of what the lowman server is now, but for basically a year the game as pretty bland so we had to make our own content, so we hosted the first two Codex lowman tourneys with a whopping grand prize of like $300 lol. Those two things elevated the server those events are what allowed us to hit 1k and what allowed us to grow like we have. Now in the middle of all of this, I've also started building up my twitter im MJ- the guy who tells people to join his discord server everyday and posts insane shit inbetween random things about lowmans. Well one day I noticed that I just kept getting this one guy on my timeline who kept posting about his lowman clears and idk what spoke to me about him but I knew I needed to reach out and ask if he wanted to do his duo dsc with me. If you know me im sure you've come to the conclusion that guy was spite. (I had to pause typing here for a minute) Man am I glad I reached out, going to break my chronological story telling here for a minute, it's just been so awesome watching how spite went from the guy who made me go into an xbox live party with just us two because he was nervous around other people and barely spoke to me, who couldn't jump from the ground floor of atraks up to the elvators into the player and person he is today, has truly been a blessing to be his friend and im glad I was able to be a part of his story. Now around this point my memory gets really hazy so I may have skipped somethings so I apologize. Anyway fast about 6 months, during this 6 months another lowman server was created and we decided to merge with them and archive our current server as to not split the community. That was a successful operation for about 3 months as on 4/15/2023 at 11pm the other lowman server was just deleted without warning 😭 and myself and the staff of the server spent the better part of the night unarchiving Codex to snag the refugee wave coming from our fallen merger. (Codex creates champions btw.) Well 2 months later everything is stablized and we decide to host our I want to say 3rd or 4th tourney, by this time we had consistent donators and strong responses from the gofundmes so we had a $1500 prize pool, was going to just be one of our standard tourneys but one of our staff members at the time just took a shot at the hoop by emailing Evanf and CBGray asking if they wanted to help host and commentate our tourney, somehow the shot went in. Seeing the event and server I created, promoted by two massive figures in the destiny community with 1000 concurrent viewers during the tourney was just an incredible feeling. Then a few weeks afterwards the server hits 10k members just unbelievable, Kronos and I never thought it would grow to be that big ever I basically threw a party when we hit 1k 😹 To be honest every since then I think most know what happens as most of yall started popping up around then so im going to stop the history lesson here as there's nothing too crazy for me to talk about anymore haha, the server is on an upward trend people are doing lowmans everything I wanted to do, everything I wanted the server to be happened and im so happy it did. You guys have no idea how happy I am every day when I see people say stuff like "I started doing lowmans because of your server" or "I saw your twitter and started doing lowmans" or "fuck you for making that server I've done all these lowmans now." It's really a feeling like no other to know how I've been able to touch so many lives with something I was just doing for fun for a game I love. Destiny is a great game but what makes it one of a kind is the people that play it and im grateful for every person I was able to meet through this game and every experience that went with it. 🐺
