Ireland's national parks cover a meagre 0.9% of the land area of the country compared to 7% in Norway. A shockingly low number. No true space for nature. No true space for wildlife.
We need more and larger national parks in Ireland.

Establishing greater climate and biodiversity literacy (I prefer the less patronising term ‘climate fluency’) is one of the big societal tasks for these next years. Here is a great summary of the role that games can play in this: theguardian.com/environment/20…

Ben Nevis now snow-free. The last patch probably melted in the previous 24 hours. There are now just three patches left in Scotland, and by next weekend that tally may change again. We are very much down the hard core (i.e. Sphinx, Pinnacles and Aonach Beag).

It was a delight to be a part of @MICLimerick Africa DAY 2022. I really got an insight to African cultures and had a chance to try some tasty Puff Puffs and African Shrimp Fried Rice! Hoping this becomes an annual event.

It’s World Bee Day today - a reminder to celebrate these insects, but also face a grim reality: in Ireland, scientists say that a third of all bee species will be extinct by 2030. We are facing a “silent spring” of loss.
