I'll stand on her having the best in-ring year for WWE in 2026. However, the main roster booking and matchmaking has been atrocious. None of their high-level wrestlers can even submit an application for a WOTY campaign.

I could see Oba Femi winning King Of The Ring, faces Roman Reigns at Summerslam, has him on the verge of losing, but Brock Lesnar runs out to cost him the match It would likely even be worse than Brock costing him at NOC. The optics of Oba losing the Summerslam Main Event is WAY WAY WORSE than him losing a tournament final that people have forgotten by Summerslam #WWERAW

Ik everyone is panicking rn but I actually think it’s gonna be Je’Von vs Oba in the finals. I think this Brock vs Oba 3 match might happen before Summerslam at SNME in MSG. That then frees Oba to win KOTR, fight Brock at MSG, then face Roman at Summerslam and win the WHC. As for Brock at Summerslam I think the Gunther match is waiting for him. #Smackdown #WWERaw #WWENOC

For whatever it’s worth, I thought this week’s Roman-less RAW in France was best in ring TV episode they’ve done all year and the show had surprisingly great vibes/energy compared to how most of the year has gone. That’s not to say Roman Reigns himself is the problem. He’s one of the best individual talents in the entire business. I do think it’s fair to say overall though that retreading the Bloodline story is lazy and not going to recapture the imagination of the people, it’s gotta be something new and interesting. Speaking of interesting, this first chapter of the Chad Gable Redemption is great. They have a hot hand here and should actually GO with it, rather than let it fizzle and give Gable a consolation IC title run and leave it at that. This could be more than that, so let it be. The Rey/Penta match had great heat and action, one of the best WWE TV matches to me all year, might be a **** and the Gable post match was strong. Elsewhere on the show I thought Lyra once again showed why she’s maybe the best active wrestler in the entire women’s division and led Sol Ruca to her most complete and well worked singles match (maybe ever?). Wasn’t the flashiest match Ruca has had but it actually felt like a wrestling match rather than an exhibition. The Becky match had the cadence of a coherent wrestling match but there’s a significant gap between Lynch and Valkyria’s execution and that’s why I personally give the nod to yesterday’s IC title match. I don’t like fatal four way matches but the France crowd was really up for them and the women’s one was a case of the talent having a good night and landing everything, and the men’s one had a good layout that successfully generated late match suspense. So it was a good show. Whether it means anything broadly is up to whether or not WWE takes the right lessons from what worked yesterday vs what generally hasn’t worked all year.

17 months ago. No Roman singles match in sight. Lost to Seth on Monday and eliminated in round 1 of the KOTR in the same week.

I’m cautiously optimistic because this is the most passion and purpose behind anything she’s done in ages.
