@nounsgg Can't y'all just take profit selling your NFT shitcoins without trampling our community? Nouns staff have repeatedly proven they lack the basic skills and professional courtesy required to run events. And as far as facilitating PH, why the fuck would they want to work with you?

We want to make a public statement regarding the scheduling conflicts between Fastfalls and Pat’s House, and acknowledge the concerns raised by the community. From the start of the year, our plan was to run our third and final Nounsvitational Japan qualifier in North Carolina on either the weekend of October 25-26 or November 1-2. As we progressed through the year, however, we were unable to find a viable venue in North Carolina that met our needs and was within our budget; no progress was made developing the event further. After much internal discussion and exploring venue opportunities in other regions, we made the decision to pivot to Upstate NY, as we had promising leads for a viable venue, as well as very supportive communities in Upstate New York and Ontario, Canada. Though the North Carolina event never moved past the ideation stage, Ohan should have communicated this change in plans with the local TO. He has since privately apologized. At the time, we did not see this as a change in our plans to collaborate with the North Carolina Melee community on a future event, but as we had to run an event in late 2025 as a precursor to the Nounsvitational, we elected to move forward with the promising venue opportunity that had presented itself in New York. That said, we should have better communicated this with the affected parties, and take full responsibility for the breakdown in communication. We are sorry for any stress or confusion it caused. Though we had initially planned to run Fastfalls on November 1-2, we were informed by the venue shortly before our announcement date that the weekend was no longer available due to a larger event booking the venue. This forced us to make a difficult decision: Either cancel the qualifier, or move it to November 8-9. We were aware that Pat’s House was already scheduled for that weekend, as was a top player’s wedding that would severely compromise top player attendance to both events. These factors made the new date far from ideal, but it was our only viable date for an event with the rapidly approaching Nounsvitational. In weighing whether we should run on the 8-9 or cancel the event, we believed that running an East Coast event, one primarily serving the Upstate NY / Toronto region, on the same weekend as a West Coast event would have minimal impact. We felt that, excluding top players, most individuals would attend the closer event; In running Nouns Bowl in Ohio, we found that the vast majority of event attendees were from the surrounding region. Additionally, none of the top players that we had contacted for the Fastfalls announcement had plans to attend Pat’s House at the time of our posting, and so we believed that it would be acceptable to announce our event on the 8-9 weekend. We felt that two different communities were being served, and did not believe that the existence of Fastfalls would compromise the success of Pat’s House. We recognize now that this was shortsighted, and a vastly insufficient consideration of the scheduling conflict. Since the announcement of Fastfalls, we have been in constant communication with the Tournament Organizers of Pat’s House, and are committed to finding solutions. Earlier today we offered to cancel and reschedule our event, only to learn that Pat’s House had already waived its reservation of the venue for that weekend. In light of this development, we have decided to continue running Fastfalls. We appreciate that this is not an ideal outcome, but we believe that not running an event on that weekend after Pat’s House’s cancellation would be a net detriment to the Melee community. However, we resolve to work with Pat’s House to facilitate their event to the best of our abilities once they are able to secure a new date for the tournament, if they are interested in our collaborative assistance. The Nouns team (Ohan, Peter, Sasquatch, Sam) remains committed to supporting Smash’s grassroot communities. Throughout 2024 and 2025, we have supported countless independent Smash events through the direct sponsorship of events, players, and community members. We intend to continue our support of grassroots Melee events for as long as possible. We hope that the community can understand that we are a small team of gamers who genuinely want the best for the Melee community; while we occasionally make mistakes, we ultimately are trying our best to leave the scene better than we found it. @sportaboutx Agree with you that's what E is. However, G was a smaller tax, with actual defined goals, and the transit projects would have brought in federal subsidies for electric buses and light rail. St Pete, FL just did similar. And again, more transit means less road/car dependence

@Chockrit Voters saw through both tax measures as a blank check to SD pension funds and lavishly overpaid, no bid/insider bid union construction labor. If the money was used with guaranteed oversight to actually fixing roads at NORMAL competitive labor rates, they would have sailed through

San Diego mostly voted how they should. Disappointed that Measure G didn't pass tho. 0.5% sales tax directed specifically at public transit. Would have brought in millions from tax revenue, but also more millions in subsidies.

@Chockrit CA has lots of NIMBYs which makes it hard to fix too. Theres plans for a new SFH dev on the edge of Esco,and ppl living nearby oppose it w “don’t burn me” (wildfire) messaging bc roads out there are narrow. Their solution is to oppose the whole thing, not ask for wider roads ????
