On December 7, 1971 at the Boys Club of America on Hoe Avenue in the South Bronx, over 100 leaders from roughly 20 different New York street gangs, including the Black Spades and Ghetto Brothers, met to negotiate a truce.
The truce was prompted by the murder of Black Benjy, a member of the Ghetto Brothers. The meeting significantly reduced community violence in the area against civilians and created rules of engagement between rival gangs that held until 1981, when crack began to flood inner cities.
This gathering is considered a pivotal moment in the history of the Bronx, contributing to the environment that allowed hip-hop culture to emerge. It was also one of the inspirations for the film "The Warriors."

Parents, we must stay vigilant. A deeply concerning video has surfaced showing Ty'Heim Clark, widely known as "The Childcare Whisperer," wearing a dress and high heels while telling a group of young children that their parents cannot be trusted. This is a direct, open attempt to drive a wedge between parents and their children. When prominent industry figures look kids in the eye and tell them to distrust the very people God gave to protect and guide them, it crosses a dangerous line. This is a deliberate effort to separate children from the authority and protection of their parents. Scripture clearly establishes that parents—not outside influencers—are responsible for instructing and shielding their children. Anyone trying to break that bond is an immediate red flag. We cannot afford to look the other way while people try to groom the next generation into distrusting their own families. You are the first line of defense for your household. This tragic event that took place at the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard in Dallas, Texas, on September 10, 2025.
The Dispute
The incident began as a dispute over a broken washing machine. The motel manager, 50-year-old Chandra Nagamallaiah, told an employee/maintenance worker, 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, not to use the broken machine. Cobos-Martinez became enraged because the manager had used a co-worker to translate the instruction rather than speaking to him directly.
The Attack
Cobos-Martinez pulled out a machete and began attacking Nagamallaiah. The manager fled across the parking lot toward the motel's front office screaming for help. The attacker chased him down and continued the assault in front of the manager's wife and son, who ran out and desperately tried to intervene.
The Gruesome Details
Cobos-Martinez pushed the family away, fatally stabbed the manager, and beheaded him. Witnesses and local police reported that the attacker kicked the victim's decapitated head across the parking lot before picking it up and placing it in a nearby trash bin.
The Aftermath
Cobos-Martinez was arrested by police blocks away from the motel shortly after the incident. He was covered in blood and found to be in possession of the machete. He was charged with capital murder by the Dallas Police Department.
