@jones_g_parker @superkash @AntoineBesnard_ I found some relevant info in this paper nature.com/articles/s4159… 30% of CeA Crh neurons co-express Camk2a, they have spines and project to the SNc/VTA

To all amygdala aficionados out there: what do we know about central amygdala Camk2a+ cells? Camk2a is considered a marker of excitatory cells yet CeA neurons are all inhibitory... Any clue would be great!

@ContetLab I'm not an amygdala anything -- but scRNAseq data certainly shows CamkIIa expressed at pretty high levels e.g. in VIP+ GABAergic neurons, among others. See: celltypes.brain-map.org/rnaseq/mouse_c…
