As a longtime fan, an owner of multiples of every Analogue release since the original NT Mini, this is the first I'm not even bothering with. It's more important to the business folk at Analogue to remain a prestige, sought-after brand than it is to get products into gamers' hands. This drop system has the same problems on every release, very known to you and easily solvable, and it goes ignored every time because I really don't think it's important to Analogue to solve those problems for its fans. The Mega SG and Super NT were in stock for years. Never suffered this issue, until of course you announced its limited lifespan. With the Pocket everything changed and the company obviously prefers the current status quo: hearing pleading fans in the comment section of every release, begging for the chance to simply buy your products. It's bullshit, and the lack of care is damaging to your brand for all but the scalpers who do get your hardware. If this one is run for long enough to ever stay in stock, I'm sure I'll grab one, but I'm over the company's business practices to really try for it anymore. I haven't marked my calendar for this or the previous release, and I won't again. And it's a real shame, because Kevin does great work, and has since long before he got in bed with Analogue. Frankly I wish he would find different business partners. Because of your engineers, you have great products, but their value isn't worth the way that the company treats its fans.

@heyphilsummers 100%. I've felt this way for a long time about any game which has a significant download component. If it's not playable right off the cart (or disc), I'm not interested in physical. This is also true if a day 1 patch is effectively required, too (e.g. CyberPunk at launch)

I have a feeling my physical Switch 2 collection is only going to be 1st party games. These Game Keys are lame.

@heyphilsummers It is an extremely cool case! I love the old clay work on old Famicom games. Have you ever seen the Eggerland games? They were localized here as Adventures of Lolo. The JP artwork is clay work, too.

I lied this is the coolest Famicase I ever made. And the last one, back in 2021.

Assuming no substantive changes in trade policy: 1. Next week (ending April 19th) will be the last “safe” window to order. 2. USA orders may see slower shipping times after this. 3. We are still trying to figure out exactly how everything works, and will absorb the increases for the short term. 4. USA prices will likely increase by summer if no resolution is reached. No change in cost or transit times to the rest of the world. Shipments will continue directly to customers and resellers directly from Asia.

@L88842357 @analogue It doesn't work yet but they are hopeful to get it working. I'm sure they don't have malicious intentions but this is bad business. I waited over 2 years to get the pocket from time of purchase. I believe they showed game footage back then but not for this one.

@heyphilsummers I enjoyed Astrobot and Astro's Playroom, but I 100% agree they feel kind of soulless. It's bright and colorful, but it's also like... these things are Great Value FunkoPops, which is kinda nauseating. The four or five big capstone stages were very cool, though.

I will say I don't love the Astro Bot character(s). They're cute but I don't want to be them. I've been dressed as an Ape Escape ape the moment I unlocked it.

I've slowly been playing Astro Bot since Christmas. I have about 150 bots. I gotta say I started out not feeling it. It just felt very corporate? Like when you go to the company party and they're like "aren't we having a blast?!" And you say yes but don't really mean it, but!

@heyphilsummers I remember saving up for the SNES with A Link to the Past --- $99 if I recall --- and being blown away with the scope of the world. I had played some other RPGs (like Final Fantasy and Zelda 2), but ALttP just felt bigger.

@heyphilsummers Not really. I was just curious if you thought the FF7 animations were better or worse. I really disliked FF15's movie due to the mouths not matching the dialog --- this is a problem both in English and Japanese due to an unfathomable design choice!

@CountOfTheMount I didn't. I never played much of 15 either. Is it worth watching as a stand alone movie?

I watched Advent Children for the first time since it came out. I hated it then but thought I'd give it a try after spending so much time with the FF7 remakes. It's still horrible. I know it has its fans, but I'd rather watch Spirits Within or even the 90s anime.

@N64ING @Skyw_333 @IGN I know Nintendo lumps GB and GBC together, but most GBC games are incompatible with the original GB. How are they not distinct platforms at that point?

I kept all of my files starting from 1990, full of letters I sent out, agreements, coverage of our games, you name it, I kept it. Much of it I still haven't gone through yet. I've got a dozen file boxes like these two containing Apogee (& OG 3D Realms) history.
