🚨The club and INEOS need to make a decision soon about the permanent manager — whether it’s sticking with Michael Carrick or going all in to convince Julian Nagelsmann… but this uncertainty can’t drag on.
My biggest concern is the players we’re trying to sign. If you’re pushing for names like Elliot Anderson or Sandro Tonali, how do you properly sell the project when you don’t even know who the manager will be?
Players want clarity. They want to know the system, their role, and who they’ll be working under. Right now, that part is still up in the air.
If it’s going to be Carrick, then commit to him. Give him a three-year deal, back him properly, and build the squad around his ideas.

Everywhere else in the world, it thrives due to accessibility, and systems which enable talented kids to go through glass ceilings— meritocratically earning their places further up the footballing ladder.
The US lacks such systems, and inherently ties player development to parental economic access.

I mean if he knew he always wanted to switch, it’s kinda selfish to be taking up youth national team spots from other young American midfielders looking for their chance.
Not beating up on him, but the USYNT isn’t really here for your reps and then you are gone.

After switching from USMNT, Obed Vargas is feeling at home in Mexico. He started vs Portugal last night. A few days ago, Obed was asked about his decision to switch. “It sounds bad to say it. But I always knew since I was a child that Mexico is where I want to play,” he said in a TV Azteca interview. “So when the opportunity presented itself, I said, ‘I’m going to do it.’ And I didn’t think twice.” “There are many cases where it would be hard to make a decision between two countries, and I understand that too. But for me, it was a quick decision. I took it when I was 18.” The midfielder played for the U.S. in the 2023 U-20 World Cup, but filed a one-time switch to Mexico in 2024. After coming up through Seattle Sounders, Obed left for Atlético Madrid this year. So he was asked if he also had dreams to play in Mexico before the move. “My dream has always been to go to Europe,” the 20-year-old answered. Obed will want to finish this season strong and get minutes in the World Cup.

The biggest question is…why does intensity and mentality have to constantly be addressed? It’s a mindset that has nothing to do with coaching, the opponent or similar jersey colors. 🤔

I don't think either Tonali or Elliot Anderson are being brought in for the #6 role, cuz I think according to stats and data, they're more of a #8...while Baleba is gonna be the #6...
Cuz it seems like Anderson favors both the #6 and #8 roles, while Tonali mostly favors the #8 role, then Baleba favors the #6 role more...
But whoever is brought in to partner Baleba is probably gonna work fine tho.
