Was tricky at the gate. I was pulled aside and a supervisor called about passport dates….

Operation ‘Can I get to Spain’ wth a valid passport due to commence in t-30 mins. This is a 6 stage operation:

I did it ! I’m in Spain 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Landed! Now border control and I’ll get to see my boys! So stressful this whole thing.

(4) go to security and wait nervously to be denied (5) if 4 is successful, wait nervously to be prevented from boarding (6) fly to Spain, arrive and wait nervously to be sent home by border control

(1) drive to airport and park up (2) do twilight bag check in & wait nervously (3) if ok, head to hotel for the night and don’t sleep due to worrying about next stages

@SimonCalder I was denied boarding on Ryanair yesterday despite my passport being within 10 years at point of entry to Spain (issue date 14 May 2012) and expiry being beyond 3 months (expiry 14 Feb 2023).

Any chance you could point me in the right direction to make a denied boarding claim with Ryanair?

I have booked an alternative flight with Jet2 tomorrow who I understand are interpreting the rules more in line with these conditions being independent.

I am not sure what to expect yet, but I will update here to let folks know the outcome. I may have 1 denied boarding claim or 2 after tomorrow !

@Ryanair Travel today until 24th April. The expiry date on my passport is Feb 2023 and the issue date of my passport is 14 May 2012 so I am travelling within the 10 year issue date and returning whilst still in this 10 year window.

@Ryanair please help! I have been denied boarding today on the basis my passport is invalid. I do not believe this is correct.
