eugenics is the first sign of the rise of fascist regimes. it always was, in history, the first step to make people accept mass death. complying to eugenics is fascist behaviour.

Hello it is me Kira :)🍉
I love how addicted doctors are to re-diagnosing us w/the same shit we’ve already been diagnosed, how if we come in & tell them what other doctors have already told us they won’t believe us until they personally replicate the literal same tests & baby step treatments first.
Jonathan@jabberwock951

I'm not gonna lie, it is frustrating when you ask a patient what's wrong and they just give you a diagnosis. Like "I have a chest infection". OK, you're probably right but I need to know your symptoms to see if I agree with that diagnosis. I can't just take your word for it.

It looks like someone put plastic in your tea. 👀 Most commercial tea bags, including ones that look like paper, are sealed with polypropylene, a petroleum-based plastic. When you pour boiling water over them, the heat causes those plastic fibers to shed directly into your drink. A McGill University study found that a single plastic tea bag releases approximately 11.6 billion microplastic particles and 3.1 billion nanoplastic particles into one cup of tea. Not over a lifetime of drinking tea. Per cup. Researchers at the University of Barcelona confirmed those particles are absorbed by human intestinal cells and can enter the cell nucleus. The long-term health effects aren't fully understood yet. What is understood: you're drinking billions of plastic particles every time you make a cup. The fix costs about $12 and takes 30 seconds to learn. Loose leaf tea. Stainless steel infuser. Done. The tea tastes better anyway.

Cities like to talk up their tree planting game. Most of them are ecological dead space that starves birds. The trees cities plant are overwhelmingly non-native ornamentals, like Bradford pears, ginkgos, London planes, zelkovas, and ornamental cherries from Asia. They're chosen for looks and disease resistance, and they're almost useless to wildlife. A native oak supports up to 557 species of caterpillars. A London plane tree, one of the most commonly planted urban trees in the world, supports one insect species. A ginkgo supports zero. Yards need to be at least 70% native plant biomass to sustain breeding bird populations. Below that threshold, birds stop reproducing successfully. Most urban streetscapes aren't at 10%. Cities are spending billions of dollars planting trees that look like habitat and function like parking lots. The science on what actually works has existed for decades. We're just not using it. If you have any say over what gets planted near you — in your yard, your neighborhood, your city council — native species aren't just better. What's your city planting?

The Paramount is part of Israel and America’s greater plan to censor Hollywood, promote Zionist propaganda, silence Palestinian voices and crack down on support, stop movies from being made, blacklist actors and label them antisemites and crush freedom of press. It will be the death of the film industry and cinema as we know it.
Deadline@DEADLINE

Mark Ruffalo, Kristen Stewart, Joaquin Phoenix and Lily Gladstone are just a few of the names who have signed on to an open letter opposing Paramount‘s proposed merger with Warner Bros. Discovery, calling the transaction one that will “threaten the sustainability of the entire creative community.” Other signatories include Noah Wyle, Rose Byrne, Lin Manuel-Miranda, Denis Villeneuve, Javier Bardem, JJ Abrams, Emma Thompson, Sandra Hüller and Ramy Youssef More details here: deadline.com/2026/04/paramo… (Photos: Getty)

PSA: If a wild bird is letting you hold them, something is wrong! They are likely sick, injured, or a fledgling, and picking them up will cause more stress. If you find a bird in distress, do not try to give them food or water as they can aspirate. Always contact a rehabber!!

You actually see this with children pretty bluntly and terribly. A child sometimes genuinely believes he or she is the only one experiencing the abuse and goes along bc he or she has been conditioned to accept it, and then comes forward when they realize a sibling is at risk
kt (she/her)@____katieee

women often come forward "late" for altruistic reasons. it's often a net loss for them — harassment, SLAPP suits, general reputational damage and even real economic loss — but they come forward when the perpetrator starts amassing the power to hurt others

I consented only to “excision of redundant labia” when I was barely 18, a virgin, and still in high school. I was told “no risks to sexual function,” which I also read online everywhere I looked. My OB/GYN, later made president of @texmed and @DallasCMS, completely amputated my labia minora, amputated my frenulum, and cut into clitoral body skin without my consent, which denervated the glans of my clitoris. This happened because clitoral/vulvar anatomy was censored from medical school and OB/GYN education. The standard of care was to do surgeries they were never trained to do on anatomy they didn’t know. Thats why I’ve been an activist. 22 years later, this is FYI STILL HAPPENING FOR THE SAME REASONS. Though I’ve changed 20 major medical textbooks, 2 anatomy apps, etc., this isn’t enough to get surgeons educated. Last I checked, OB/GYNs still aren’t required to know clitoral anatomy. Textbooks define the frenulum as part of the labia minora and do not recognize its function. Tbh I was so focused on getting the course of the dorsal clitoral nerves added that I didn’t focus on the innervation of the frenulum (posterior labial nerve). This is recognized in 0 OB/GYN resources. ☠️ The white lines show where my doctor cut me basically.

Why buy a bird feeder when you can plant one? Here's what most people get wrong about feeding birds: birds don't just need seeds. They need insects. The real bird feeder is your yard, so here's what to plant, roughly in order of wildlife value: Oaks: The undisputed champion. Supports 557 caterpillar species and also produces acorns eaten by over 100 bird and mammal species. Plant one oak and you've done more for local birds than a decade of sunflower seeds. Native cherry or plum: Supports 456 caterpillar species and the berries eaten by dozens of bird species. One of the most productive plants per square foot you can put in the ground. Native willow: 455 caterpillar species supported. Fast growing and excellent for wet spots where other trees struggle. Serviceberry: The berries eaten by more than 40 bird species, are edible for people, and fruit ripens in early summer right when birds are feeding nestlings. Also gorgeous in the fall. Elderberry: A fast growing shrub and the berries devoured by birds in late summer before migration. High fat content helps fuel long flights. Dogwood: The berries get eaten by about 100 bird species including tanagers, woodpeckers, and catbirds. Fall color is to die for. Tolerates shade pretty well. Goldenrod, asters, sunflowers, coneflower: — seeds feed birds through winter, hosts hundreds caterpillar species, and feeds a ton of pollinators. The rule: Once your yard hits 70% native plant biomass, bird populations stabilize and reproduce successfully. Below that threshold chickadees stop breeding or produce fewer viable young. Plant the oak, the serviceberry, the elderberry, and the sunflower. Skip the feeder.
