“Trust the process; rushing may lead you to compromise your integrity.” Speaking at the School of Integrity 2025 graduation ceremony, Transparency International Zimbabwe (TI Z) Board Chairperson Isheanesu Chirisa challenged young leaders to remain grounded in honesty, patience, and ethical conduct as they pursue their goals. She emphasised that integrity is not a one-time act but a lifelong commitment that defines genuine leadership. Chirisa encouraged graduates to embrace growth at their own pace, warning that shortcuts often come at the cost of one’s values #SchoolofIntegrity #OurIntegrity #OurIdentity #EmergingLeaders

Anti-corruption narratives are a domain of the young whose future hangs in the balance if corruption remains unchecked. The role is clearly outlined - adopting integrity as a guiding principle so as to shun practices that undermine development and progress. @TIZim_info

Nuggets from the Transparency International School of Integrity 2025 'Integrity is wholeness - when your words, actions, and values merge together in perfect alignment. It is making bold decisions and standing by them consistently.' Dr Mugaviri @TIZim_info

Corruption is not merely about individuals accepting bribes, it involves how power and money influence governance, policy, and inequality throughout Africa. Dr Godfrey Kanyenze elaborated on this topic in his presentation on the Political Economy of Corruption and Its Impact on Africa, emphasising that corruption is deeply embedded in political and economic systems Key takeaways: Understanding corruption: From petty acts like small bribes to grand and systemic corruption that captures entire states and drains billions from public coffers. Power and patronage: Political elites and PEPs use state institutions for private gain, seen in oil in Nigeria and Angola Winners and losers: The poor, women, and youth bear the brunt, while corruption entrenches inequality and weakens public trust. Regional context: Africa has strong anti-corruption frameworks, which are guided by the AU and SADC conventions. Governance dynamics: Patronage, informal networks, and shadow economies sustain corruption and distort democracy. Development cost: Corruption cripples service delivery, fuels debt, and accelerates illicit financial flows. Pathways for change: Civil society, media, and oversight bodies must strengthen accountability. Youth can drive transparency through innovative social accountability tools. #SchoolofIntegrity #OurIntegrity #OurIdentity #EmergingLeaders

🎓 The 2025 School of Integrity is underway! This week, Transparency International Zimbabwe (TI Z) with support from the Embassy of Sweden. The programme brings together 25 young leaders from across Zimbabwe for an intensive week of learning, dialogue, and field experiences focused on integrity, transparency, and good governance. At a time when corruption and low youth participation threaten progress, the School of Integrity is building a new generation of ethical leaders equipped to make honest, informed, and accountable decisions in their communities and careers. Through workshops, field visits, and peer learning, participants are engaging directly with anti-corruption experts, policymakers, and institutions shaping the governance landscape in Zimbabwe. #SchoolofIntegrity #OurIntegrity #OurIdentity #EmergingLeaders
