@brunobarking @rabbriansamuel @Antunes1 The Septuagint (the Greek Old Testament) is the version used almost exclusively by Christ & the Apostles. In multiple places the Hebrew is corrupt while the Septuagint preserves the original text.

In Matthew 21:15-16, Christ quotes a written prophecy preserved in the Greek of the Septuagint Psalm 8:2: "Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise" (The Masoretic says "…you have established strength", which isn't applicable to the situation.)

Lutheran friends only, I have a genuine question out of curiosity, and I’m only asking out of curiosity, not intending to create divide or be contentious.
Does anyone know the exact reason why women are allowed to publicly read the daily scriptures at the divine service of Paul says this..
“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints, the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.”

I’m genuinely curious what the Lutheran understanding of this is, because it would seem to me that public reading of scripture would be encompassed in this command for silence.
Again as I stated, I’m not asking this out of malice, I’m just curious. I’m not bothered by women reading the scriptures.
I’d prefer to hear actual historic interpretations from our theologians, not opinions please.

1. He is quoting a book called "The Lessons of History."
2. His point is that you have no choice but to oppose evil. You can call for moderation, but if someone is set on doing evil, he will unless opposed with force.
3. He believes that we are living in a historical moment that requires America, Israel, and European democracies to stand up for themselves.
4. This means forcefully opposing evil.
I usually keep the sound off because sound annoys me. But Bibi is clearly being quoted out of context to gin up outrage.
