important to remember that kirishima only started working on his quirk into his last year in middle school he could barely harden at all when he was struggling to choose a high school. he literally worked himself from nothing to 2nd in ua’s practical exam in a matter of MONTHS

@mijuu788 The nuclear punch is probably seen by her contract as an extension of the nuclear weapons devil, and it would not be the same type of damage to herself that she can apply on her own like when she fell off the bike, but damage "caused by" the nuclear devil

@Nightli58405647 @ImNotThatGloomy Thats the catch actually, i think the authors intent always matters. I think that when ot comes to powerscaling, the philosophical logic of fictionalism should be used, Powerscaling should be a consequence of analyzing the story as a whole first

@DenjiRandoman @ImNotThatGloomy If the authors see them as pg-13 bullets, then they move at pg-13 bullets speeds. Applying real-life physics formulas while ignoring other physics inconsistencies because "the author didn't think of it" is hypocrisy. It's picking and choosing when author intent matters.

@HugintheCrow @ImNotThatGloomy I mean yeah, if authors cared about physics and didnt use "being ftl" as a mere feature in a story, no one would ever have been written as ftl. Nothing can be lightspeed, its the speed at which causality acts in our universe. Only stuff with warpdrive/wormholes would be 50% fine

@ImNotThatGloomy Authors generally don't care, because in the grand scheme of things it doesn't actually matter for storytelling purposes. It's powerscalers who treat these "feats" too seriously, as if there was science behind any of it. 90% of the time, there isn't.

I always wonder what the Darkness Devil wanted from Aki, after all, he wasn't after Pochita's heart

@ImNotThatGloomy Archie sonic is in fact a victim of the phenomenon I described with thor. Mike Galleghan wrote sonic as faster than light, but Ian Flynn described him and wrote him as a being vaguely over Mach 1 in his archie runs

@ImNotThatGloomy That's because its uncommon Like, sometimes they write guys like flash/thor as ftl,but then another writer comes along and gives them supersonic mentions None of the 2010s shonen mangas have someone who actually FIGHTS faster than light, i was thinking of stuff like archie sonic

@ImNotThatGloomy I think you have to think on the author's intent and consistency Does the story ever says that the character is ftl? They have feats that a casual reader could catch as such speed? Does that remain consistent with the rest of mentions? Does the story work with a ftl character?

@ImNotThatGloomy Alot of stories don't stop to think about the implications, so when a story says that someone is ftl, thats just it sometimes The problem is when they assume that characters are ftl only based on vibes ("dodge a laser gun!") i bet most autors see those as just cool PG-13 bullets

@YankeeLovesCats En español lo tradujeron como "el demonio de la senectud" que seria "the Senescence devil" y la verdad siento que le da un aura tremenda, lo hace sonar antiguo y esoterico

@Sammy81806 @YankeeLovesCats I honestly think that Modulo's yuji has much more destructive power than Denji-Man, but Denji-man should be faster, And the Chainsaws' focused cuts applied by someone as strong as pochita gives him a means to hurt Yuji

@YankeeLovesCats But it would be kinda disingenuous to give Denji Pochita but not let Yuji get modulo stuff
