Well done all. If you are involved in InsurTech you should be familiar with CIRDAS (Centre for Insurance Data Analytics Studies) at SETU. They provide excellent education courses - many for free! - and they encourage consideration of Insurance as a career for graduates.

Great guide to AI/ML in insurance by @InsTech_London & @MerttsR. The point that 90% of the work is in data prep is well made. In our experience this is the area that companies are least willing to spend time & money on - unfortunately it is the bedrock of any data strategy.

@BrianCVC @Springcoil @destraynor This is why, along with the 10K+ costs & potentially being liable if relief was not granted when claimed, that as an Irish tech startup we immediately bypassed EIIS and recently got SEIS/EIS approval in the UK.

@Springcoil @destraynor So, on the (potentially many) losing investments in your portfolio, your "tax break" end up being just 7% of your cost. That is an incentive for real risk-taking, which is why EIIS uptake is dominated by low-risk quasi-asset-backed propositions.
