@lua_cortes The acronym was “Government Open Language of Design” and the chemistry symbol for Gold is also AU which was also nice.

@DesignSystemAU Where does the name GOLD Design System come from? As an Aussie, I know our national colours are green and gold, but the fact that you capitalize it makes me think it is also an acronym?

@posty @DTA The Design System has become a community led effort @DesignSystemAU. All the original GitHub repos have been forked and the community continues on a new Slack channel.

Hey @DTA - the design system has been decommissioned last yr, but now the links are broken. what replaces it? What happened to it? designsystem.gov.au/components/cor… at least the github is still there: github.com/govau/design-s… I suspect @MrRossMullen might know as he last updated git.

Excellent news that this great design system will continue to be maintained, albeit without any apparent support from the Australian government. It would be good to understand more about what, if anything, is being done to ensure its ongoing development and support.

First, "Gold" is 100% the best design system name/pun in the universe. *chef kiss* Second, it's awesome that our community has picked up where the government left off and is committed to maintaining this great system going forward~!

Can’t wait to see where this goes, and hopefully lend a hand myself! I’m a believer in a ‘moderated’ rather than ‘controlled’ DS, and it’s something we follow in NSW now. It’s still a big job, though, and a central team is vital - so these folks deserve any support and cheering!
