Syrian hamsters are saving lives in the Hantavirus. They're currently being used in Hantavirus research because they develop symptoms similar to humans, helping scientists test vaccines and treatments.
These same hamsters were also used during COVID vaccine research. Funny how people call hamsters the “nice version of rats” when they might help save lives and those rats only ruin lives. People are tokenizing rats, when the hamsters are saving lives.
