However, as the post-sunset sky grew dimmer and eventually dark, and the comet descended toward the horizon, I saw it with my eyes ✨ What a magical thing it is to look up, and really notice the world around us ✨

While cameras are pretty good at capturing celestial neighbours like comets, our human eyes are not quite as good. And this one has been tricky to see with the naked eye, and it is getting dimmer by the day as it flies away from earth.

Early this morning at 4:54am, and with careful planning, I was fortunate enough to capture my first comet - Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. She's a sun-chaser in her glow era ✨

The beautiful thing about these rare and fleeting moments of connection like observing an ancient traveller brings, is that there are endless rare and fleeting moments if we take the time to look up. Wishing you all clear skies and calm minds ✨

It’s amazing to think that she has been journeying for millions of years, and now, for a brief time, we get to witness her beauty. Moments like these feel like a profoundly personal connection to the Universe to me, liked I've plugged in to the awe that is all around us.
