Our next @STEMTeachTools PD webinar for #NGSS is probably my favorite! (🤫) #NGSSchat ⚡️ We analyze different education scenarios to see how to build on the varied INTELLECTUAL STRENGTHS of each student as they make sense of #SciEd phenomena. ⚡️ Join us! tiny.cc/STT-July2022

At @ISD719CommEd Nature Adventures Camp the students were all about catching "grasshoppers." Upon looking closer they realized some looked different from others which led to learning about katydids and crickets.

From an early age, children notice & appreciate patterns in the world around them. Patterns & sequences of different kinds begin to pop up all over the place, especially in the BOOKS they love. 4 Fun Books that Explore Math, Patterns, and Sequences earlymath.erikson.edu/4-fun-books-th…

Thanks to the shade of the forest & Mother Nature's "fan," the heat didn't stop us from having a great 3 hours of camp. Picture: It's impossible to explore water with preschoolers without someone flooding their boot. 🤣
Anna Dutke@ADutke

S1: What's the temperature right now? Me: 92, feels like 101 S1: It doesn't feel THAT hot... 2 min later we step out of the shade... S2: Whoa! Did you just turn the heat on? S1: And what happened to the fan?

In #ECE we may steer children away from arguing but “Engaging in argument from evidence” is one of the @OfficialNGSS Practices of Science & Engineering. Children love to state how they know what they (think) they know ➡️great discussions/opportunities 4 oral language & reasoning.
STEM Teaching Tools@STEMTeachTools

Argumentation is central to productive science learning. How can your classroom and lab activities be modified to provide opportunities for argumentation in these discussion formats? stemteachingtools.org/brief/17 #SciEd, #ScienceEd #STEMed, #NGSS #NGSSchat

Children learn so much about the diversity of plant life and the different structures that plants have when they have some opportunities to explore, touch, and pick. (Yes *my* garden suffers many losses to the toddler’s exploration) #OutdoorLearning @ECSIF
