I understand the sentiment, but this is grossly inaccurate from a Tolkien lore perspective, and thus, I must correct it. Hobbits kept pretty good records of their own history. 270 years prior to Frodo setting off from the Shire, Bullroarer Took and a band of Hobbits singlehandedly ended an orc invasion of Eriador. Hobbits have encountered plenty of evil. The idea that they "don't believe it exists" is simply wrong. A more 1/1 comparison would be the unchaining of Melkor and the damage that did to Valinor.
