I was recently speaking to one of the writers who works on a platform that focusses on vertical micro dramas & he said the most popular themes that clock in millions of views consistently revolve around infidelity. Pati Patni Aur Woh, a movie focussing on similar themes was first made in 1978 & has got two adaptations already (2019 & 2026) A lack of evolution in storytelling is one thing, what gravitates more interest & eyeballs surprisingly remains consistent.
