Italy’s defence minister confirms our reporting today that Europe’s biggest naval powers won’t begin escorting ships through the Strait of Hormuz until the conflict ends:
“No war mission. No entry into Hormuz without a truce and without an extended multilateral initiative.”

Ho letto interpretazioni totalmente errate sul documento approvato oggi da alcune nazioni europee e non, tra cui l’Italia. Nessuna missione di guerra. Nessun ingresso ad Hormuz senza un a tregua e senza un’iniziativa multilaterale estesa. Siamo consapevoli però dell’importanza per tutti di lavorare per la riapertura in sicurezza di Hormuz e riteniamo che sia giusto ed opportuno che siano le Nazioni Unite ad offrire la cornice giuridica per un’iniziativa pacifica e multilaterale per raggiungere questo obiettivo.

Four years of Miss Mzinga. Rescued in February 2022, this little orphan was a hard-won success story. Keepers like Peter (seen here) devoted themselves to her care, day and night, to shepherd her through her fragile infancy. Peter also took the second clip just last week – you'll see, Mzinga is already reaching great heights and often looks out for the younger herd. When newbie Alia was left behind as the herd moved on last month, kind Mzinga chose to stay back with her like the "big sister" she is.

Last night we gave Republicans another chance to limit Trump’s unauthorized war in Iran. Once again, Republicans opposed our war powers resolution. Where is their courage? Where is their loyalty to the constitution? Where are the public hearings with Secretary Rubio and Hegseth under oath?
This issue isn’t going away. Republicans can try to wash their hands of Donald Trump's war with Iran, but they will not escape responsibility.
