⭐ EPA Employee Spotlight ⭐ Meet Niki Maslin, Chief Technology Officer in the Office of Finance and Administration’s IT Engagement and Strategy Division. After honing her skills in the U.S. Navy, Niki transitioned to the private sector as a senior developer and expert in AI and cybersecurity, then joining EPA where she now works to improve operational efficiency. Part of her role (and passion) is building bridges across industry, academia, states, Tribes, and federal agencies to accelerate responsible innovation. She blends technology, mission, and people to help protect human health and the environment. Niki recently helped release the AI‑powered comment synthesis tool that helps the agency review and understand large volumes of public feedback during rulemaking. It’s a great example of how thoughtful, mission-driven AI can support better outcomes for the public. Most colleagues don’t know that one of the first things Niki ever built was an Android video game – an early project that reminded her how much fun it is to experiment, learn, and create. Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!

Pillar 2 of our Powering the Great American Comeback initiative ensures the Trump EPA is prioritizing ways to unleash American energy dominance to provide economic relief for Americans and bring commonsense rulemaking back to government. EPA's announced guidance today clarifies current federal regulations allowing oil and natural gas producers to continue routine flaring of associated gas at new oil wells in limited circumstances after the May 7, 2026, phase out deadline. This action directly responds to industry concerns and, according to @ENERGY, allows for continued oil production to reduce gasoline prices across the country. More here: spgv.io/60118u57

America needs to be leaning into advanced recycling technologies more than any other nation in order to unmake plastic waste, protect local communities, and grow our economy. We must deliver regulatory certainty and cut the red tape restrictions that are suffocating American families. @epaleezeldin explains how EPA and the Trump Administration are leading on these important efforts.

Another TOTAL MELTDOWN by a Dem Congressman when confronted with facts about the rampant waste, abuse, and conflicts of interest as the Biden Admin doled out BILLIONS of dollars to their far left friends. When Dems hear the truth, they implode, and in @RepMenendez's case, he starts doing some really weird things with his hands when he starts hearing about “gold bars” getting tossed around.

When you don’t have anything good to say, some advise to just not say anything at all. As for @rosadelauro, she apparently believes that when you don’t have anything good to say, you should instruct the person you are debating to kill themself.

Nothing infuriates an uninformed Congressional Dem more than when they realize they voluntarily triggered a debate with someone who actually knows what they are talking about, reads federal statute and adheres to Supreme Court precedent. Today’s self-implosion by @rosadelauro was quite remarkable to witness. Without apology or regret, I will always adhere to the best available reading of federal statute pursuant to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Loper Bright.

The Trump EPA has ENDED the Green New Scam. We proudly rescinded what has been referred to as the “Holy Grail” for the “world is about to end” climate change zealots, the 2009 Obama EPA Endangerment Finding, without apology or regret. $1.3 trillion in savings. $2,400 more affordable new vehicles. The end of the start/stop climate participation trophy. All while protecting our environment.

While tremendous progress has been made in reducing children’s exposure to lead, the Trump EPA understands there is still much more work to be done. We have taken an all-hands-on-deck approach to tackling this issue head-on to ensure communities and states have the funding and resources necessary to reduce lead exposure.

⭐ EPA Employee Spotlight ⭐ Meet Julie Song, a Senior Permit Specialist in @eparegion9's Water Division. Since joining EPA in 2019, Julie has worked on developing and reviewing wastewater discharge permits under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System program, as well as providing technical support to state, Tribal, and territorial partners on critical and complex permitting issues. Julie recently issued a permit for the City of San Diego Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant – a project that was three years in the making! She credits the support of her internal and external colleagues in delivering this incredible accomplishment. When not at work, you can find Julie riding her new bike, cooking, or jamming out to K-pop. Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!

The Trump EPA is doing everything in our power to reduce everyday costs for American families and drive the production of domestic energy, all while protecting our incredible environment. On @wjrradio , I recently discussed the agency’s action to allow the year-round sale of E15 gasoline and remove impediments to E10 gasoline to ensure this administration delivers for communities across the country.

ICYMI: The Trump Administration is restoring America’s Everglades by accelerating construction of the EAA Reservoir, a massive infrastructure effort to support beneficial water flows. This unique 2-million-acre wetland ecosystem—with its renowned “river of grass” flowing from Lake Okeechobee to Florida Bay—is a national treasure and an ecological hot spot that supports over 2,000 animal species while recharging the aquifer that provides drinking water for 9 million Floridians. “President Trump’s legacy as a great American builder is on display here today, because he never shies away from an opportunity to take on grand projects,” said EPA Deputy Assistant Administrator for Water Wes Brooks. spgv.io/601683hY

⭐ EPA Employee Spotlight ⭐ Meet Howard Kahan, a Finance Section Chief in @EPAregion9's Tribal Clean Water Section. Howard works to support Tribes in helping manage water grants, facilitate collaboration, and ensure compliance and efficiency in grant management. He’s also part of EPA’s emergency response efforts, deploying to the Maui wildfires, the East Palestine train derailment, and last year to the Los Angeles wildfires – where he worked to complete response efforts in less than 30 days. Most colleagues might not know that Howard was a radio DJ in college at station KCSB. Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!
