⭐ EPA Employee Spotlight ⭐ Meet Christian Beauchemin, a Chemist at the National Enforcement Investigations Center in EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. As a chemist in EPA’s environmental forensics laboratory, Christian supports the agency’s criminal and civil enforcement investigations through the analysis of complex environmental and hazardous waste samples. He enjoys the challenges presented by the unique and often complex samples that arrive. When Christian joined the agency, he was inspired by the vast expertise and knowledge of his mentors in analytical chemistry. He’s driven and motivated to one day offer that same guidance and mentorship to the next generation of EPA employees. When not at work you can find Christian living out his childhood dream of exploring the mountains, often with his road bike. Thank you for making a difference at EPA and beyond!

EPA’s engagements with Tribes strengthens our government-to-government relationship as we continuously work together to ensure clean air, land, and water for all those living in Indian country. Recently, Assistant Administrator for EPA’s Office of International and Tribal Affairs Usha Turner and other senior leadership attended the Tribal Leaders Meet and Greet hosted by the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI). EPA leaders met with many Tribal leaders, including Tribal Chairman John L. Lowery of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, which became the 575th federally recognized Tribe in the nation in December 2025. Thank you to DOI and Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs William Kirkland for inviting EPA!

I've had the privilege of meeting several times now with @EPA Administrator @epaleezeldin since his arrival here in the @CountyofLA, and I have to say—this federal partnership is making a tangible difference for survivors. Our survivors deserve every bit of support we can provide, and that’s what we intend to deliver.

Americans will see an average cost savings of over $2,400 per new vehicle now that President Trump has rescinded the 2009 Endangerment Finding.

@POTUS is advancing affordability, consumer choice, and the American Dream by making it easier for Americans to reach their jobs, grow their small businesses, and participate fully in the transportation and logistics systems that power the U.S. economy.

Mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants are DOWN 90% since pre-2012 levels. Acid gas hazardous air pollutant emissions are DOWN 96% since 2010.  And emissions of non-mercury metals are DOWN 81%. These reductions occurred WITHOUT the onerous and flawed 2024 amendments to the MATS rule that the Biden EPA admitted were NOT necessary to protect human health.  Last week, the Trump EPA cut red tape and repealed the Biden rule, saving $670 million in regulatory costs AND locking in these dramatic reductions. EPA is securing energy dominance AND protecting human health.

The American people gave President Trump a mandate to lower costs, cut red tape, and make life more affordable. Thanks to @epaleezeldin’s action to rescind the Obama Administration’s unlawful Endangerment Finding and all GHG emissions standards for new motor vehicles that flowed from it, the Trump EPA is ending the push toward EV mandates, delivering much-needed regulatory relief, and lowering costs for consumers who want safer, more reliable, and more affordable new cars.

Today, @POTUS Trump directed @FEMA and @EPA to provide emergency assistance to the District of Columbia as they work to protect people from the effects of the recent spill in the Potomac. @EPALeeZeldin and I will stay in close contact to ensure coordinated federal support to the District.   FEMA is deploying a team to support incident management, working directly with local officials and federal partners to coordinate federal resources. EPA will lead the federal response while @DHSgov and FEMA leverage all our resources to ensure the cleanup is swift and effective. Even as Democrat politicians shut us down and these men and women go without pay, DHS is committed to providing much needed aid to the Americans impacted by this disaster. We will not let our citizens suffer without help.
