In a recent presentation before an American audience I described how 4-5 words we use in English today are derived from or related to the first line of the Rig Veda. They were amazed
Agni becomes ignite, Agnes, Agape
Purohit gives us portal
Yajna becomes join, yoke (if we accept that yaj- & yuj- are related)
Devam descends into diva, divine
Rit becomes rite, right
We are still bathed in the Veda. We just don’t see the impact it had on our language, thoughts & feelings. In some ways we are living still the articulations of our Rishis @MakrandParanspe @satyanveshan

One of my friends had a destination wedding and shared a dress code list for every function.
I tried to follow it, but my dress color was different for one event, which upset her. She also didn’t like my dance performance.
Honestly, it felt more like a burden than an enjoyable experience to attend her wedding. After this experience, I feel that it’s better to avoid such weddings.

Entire Facebook has turned anti-modi in the last 6-8 months
Whenever I open facebook I just see anti-modi posts with 50k likes. Even my long term modi supporting friends are sharing anti-modi posts
I don't ask what changed because everyone has different reasons. BJP leadership is living in a bubble that everything is fine because BJP wins elections on welfare schemes

A mother & her newborn child were abducted. She was blindfolded, kept in captivity & starved for days.
Then one day, someone placed a non-veg food plate in front of her. She was so close to death that she did not think, she just ate. Every bite was survival.
When she finished, the man asked her, what kind of mother are you? You ate your food but you did not even ask about your child.
She broke down. Begging. Please give me my baby back.
He laughed.
I would have but you just ate him.
That was the level of barbarism. Films like The Kashmir Files only scratch the surface. Barely a fraction could be shown. Not because the truth is small but because the system does not allow the full truth to come out.
Call it propaganda if you want. Reality does not change. And consequences have a way of catching up. You will suffer too by denying Hindu Genocide. That mother's curses will not leave you. Wait & watch!

Gurgaon Horror, Yet Again!
Horrible to see young lives being taken away in the most ruthless manner by this wrong side driver. S/he should be put behind bars for life for this brazen, purposeful murder.
I recently drove & covered over 2K kms spanning 20+ districts of Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi & UP for almost a week; found wrong side drivers in each of those - two wheelers included.
And before you think they are all ruffians from the badlands, we see the so called educated & elite drive wrong side, or jumping traffic lights, everyday in Gurgaon/Delhi. We see well-dressed corporate hotshots, drunk drivers nonetheless, leaving ubiquitous Cyberhubs of Gurugram every weekend, with a belief that “I am not that drunk”. These are all people committing crimes with intent - knowing that they are dangerous to others’ lives.
Only when this crime will attract a lifetime of jail, some deterrence may be seen. Till then, wait for the next one.

If I stay home and raise my own children I am a loser and not ambitious
But if I hire and pay another woman to raise and take care of my children for me than I am an empowered woman
If that same woman stayed home with her children she would be a loser
But if she takes care of my children she is not
If we both switched and raised each others children for a paycheck we would be successful ambitious girl bosses
But if we do it for our own children we are losers

"What's your name?" asked the teacher.
"Mohammad," he replied.
"You're in Ireland now," replied the teacher, "So from now on you will be known as Mike.
Mohammad returned home after school.
"How was your day, Mohammad?" his mother asked.
"My name is not Mohammad. I'm in Ireland, and now my name is Mike”.
"Are you ashamed of your name? Are you trying to dishonour your parents, your heritage, your religion? Shame on you!"
And his mother beat the shit out of him. Then she called his father, who beat the shit out of him again.
The next day, Mohammad returned to school. The teacher saw all of his fresh bruises.
"What happened to you, Mike?" she asked.
"Well, shortly after becoming an Irishman, I was attacked by two f00king Arabs."

I will never understand having a child walk around carrying the name of someone who doesn’t acknowledge them. Name and lineage should be an honor, not a default setting.
