Chemical accidents happen every year—putting communities at risk. EPA’s Risk Management Program helps prevent them. Weakening it puts workers and nearby communities in greater danger. We should be reducing risk—not increasing it. Americans want to be #SaferNotSicker

Besties, quick reality check! EPA says they’re absolutely cooking on PFAS protections… Twin, that’s CAP! The safeguards that keep these “forever chemicals” out of our water and food are actually getting rolled back. And if you ask us? That’s a flop.

As AI data centers expand and electricity demand surges, we should be scaling clean energy — not weakening coal plant safeguards or repealing the EPA’s climate protections. Rollbacks mean more pollution and more health issues. Read more: buff.ly/Nyz0d6G

Repealing the strengthened 2024 rule allows hundreds of facilities across 45 states to avoid stronger safety standards — jeopardizing public health and environmental justice. Children, pregnant people, and overburdened communities will pay the highest price.

🧵The Trump EPA has repealed the updated Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) — a critical safeguard limiting mercury and other toxic air pollutants from coal- and oil-fired power plants. This rollback puts vulnerable communities at risk. environmentalprotectionnetwork.org/20260220_mats-…
U.S. EPA@EPA

🚨Just now, at a power plant in Louisville, Kentucky, @epa_fotouhi announced that EPA has repealed the 2024 amendments to the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) for power plants promulgated under the previous administration, which needlessly put grid reliability and affordable power for American families at risk. This action—estimated to save $670 million—simply returns MATS requirements to the existing and fully protective standards promulgated in 2012, which the Trump EPA reaffirmed in 2020. Today’s action defines EPA’s mission to protect human health and the environment, while also promoting affordability for all Americans. epa.gov/newsreleases/e…

Bob Sussman, EPN volunteer and former Senior Policy Counsel to the EPA Administrator, warns: abandoning climate action hurts our economy, security, and global standing. Despite this, U.S. emissions rose in 2025 and scientists were sidelined when their expertise was needed most.
