@mhaisback @The_Franchisee_ Anytime people sell a "widget" based on how valuable "their time" is, they don't understand basic economics. Sell that mod to a few people at 500. sell it to 1000 people for 10 bucks. Onlyfans girls make the same mistakes.

@IsThisNikkiHeat @The_Franchisee_ Counterpoint. When you don't own the rights to anything you are modding....you are not owed anything for your time other than a cease and desist. Free modding is a hobby and stays in the legal grey area. Selling your mods is technically very illegal.

@TxM_CDF @dotGrix What about modding in a wrestler and charging for that? You don't own the rights to let's say......Jushin Liger. Legally you can't steal his likeness and SELL it to others. You can mod it on your game for free....but you can't legally profit from it.

If you're joining the #WWE2K26 mod community this year, welcome. There are a lot of talented creators who target all eras of wrestling (I'm an ROH/AEW guy). What should never be normalized is leaking paid content and bragging about it because of grudges or parasocial nonsense. It hurts creators and damages the whole community. Do not be like these people. This behavior is not something to copy, defend, or excuse.

@elliottswrstlin I ......wait.....what? Its an amazing match. Ive showed it to non fans as a "see it can be a sport" example and they loved it. Did something change? My group of wrestling buds in high school all loved it at the time.

Probably would've ranked higher if the match was good.

@Mykelovve @dotGrix True especially with the game itself. I love when people spend 6 months hyping their pre order then BIIIITCH about how bad the game is. 2k will never learn if you keep pre ordering and beta testing for them. But it gets repeated every year.

@dotGrix I mean if you mod a wrestler in to a game. And charge for it. You haven't paid for their likeness and aren't giving any of your proceeds to them. Its wrong to charge for that (not sure if anyone charges for wrestlers) and is grounds to be shut down. But free people look away.

@dotGrix Meh maybe. Again. Like I said in all for patreon. And throwing some cash a modders way when you can. I encourage that. Just dont believe you should have to pay for a mod upfront. I think it holds the scene back and brings unwanted attention from IP holders.
