USA did not changed their name, ABD is just the local translation for Turkish. You can use Turkey as a Türkiye's variant for your own, which is perfectly fine. It's just drama over nothing.

The kebab man actually cares. One time, our friend group skipped our weekly meetup at our local kebab place because a family member of one of our friends had passed away.
