"You borrowed $100,000 because you heard about 'the power of demonstration ' in a marketing book and wanted to show potential newsletter subscribers what a good stock picker you are?" "Yes, Dave." "And how much is this newsletter?" "Free." daily-dividend.beehiiv.com

Crazy to see how fast Walmart compounded. This was in the span of ~20 years.

The fact that betting on sports is more normalized than investing into low cost index funds every month is going to have some very real long term impacts

Most people under 30 and over 50 could not care less about FIRE. It's very much a one generation thing. Wonder if it has anything to do with coming of age during a brief period where there were two market chrashes in less than a decade? I'd say yes.

This is funny because it is also similar to how I got into Japanese stocks. My introduction to investing started with index funds and ETFs. But then a little after that, I watched Kiritani-san on TV for the first time talking about Japanese stocks and yutai. This got me interested into buying Japanese stocks so I could collect yutai. Researching yutai is then what got me interested in dividends and value investing. Buying individual stocks meant that I became interested in getting the best "value" for my money. So I have to thank Kiritani-san for introducing me to yutai, Japanese stocks, and value investing. Thank you Kiritani-san!

@CacheThatCheque Honestly the reason I got into Japanese stocks is to “anti-carry trade” as I have dollar income but need yen to live. I then realized Japan is a great place to value invest

Made in America gets no respect because it looks like an $8 check-out paperback, but it packs a ton of good stuff into a small package. I’m glad to spread the word!

Knew nothing about the Walton family, started reading "Made In America" on @CDInewsletter 's recommendation. Great book! Surprised to learn Sam Walton was the richest man in the world by the early 90s.

"Bank OZK follows a unique dividend policy, raising its payout every quarter. Individually, these increases may seem paltry (1% here, 2% there), but they compound over time. The result? A 5-year dividend compound annual growth rate of 10.20%." daily-dividend.beehiiv.com/p/here-s-what-…

Oil up 10% to $110/barrel as Wall Street has a hissy fit. My portfolio? Not moving. When you buy things that are so illiquid and overlooked, not even the worst macro news moves these stocks. Illiquid pink sheet microcaps are the true store of value in a volatile time.

HubSpot bought The Hustle. Stripe acquired Indie Hackers. They're not buying content. They're buying distribution pipelines. Audiences are the most undervalued assets in business right now. The companies that understand this earliest win.

Dividend stocks tend to shine during turbulent times for the overall markets They decline less than the market during bear markets During bull markets, they increase less than the market They are also easier to hold since shareholders receive a predictable stream of dividends on a regular basis

The fourth best selling book on all of Amazon is a 34-page short. $0.99 so only 30% royalty rate. Still, an estimated $1,368 per day!
