James Gunn embraced the weirdness, the fantasy and the surrealism from the comics. He loves to make the camera another character, letting it flow with every movement. That's why there's creativity in showing Superman's powers with kicks, cannon balls, punches or spinning flights.

Snyder fans hate seeing Superman with feelings and personality because they believe he must be serious and cold to maintain his "masculinity". These are the best adaptations where he's not treated as an imposing or an evil god, but as a human being who wants to inspire.

I ABHOR modern interpretations of Superman that make him a naive goofball soft boy, as if the only way a man can be GOOD is if he is HARMLESS. Superman should be kind-hearted and gentle, of course, but he should exude a confidence and gravitas that commands respect from others.
