FFDIA's Board repeatedly warned the District about flaws in the design. This email is just one example where FFDIA, relying on its Board’s expertise in managing community ice rinks, tried to get the District to include FFDIA in the process in a meaningful way. It never happened.

On 2/3, we'll skate in solidarity with the US figure skating community and in remembrance of those whose lives were lost in this tragedy. All are invited to come together with us to support one another as we grieve, honor, and celebrate the strength of the skating community.

FFDIA grieves with WFSC, USFS and our wider community. American Airlines Flight 5342 carried young athletes, their families, and their coaches home from the National Development Camp. Some were from the local DMV area.

Special thanks to Tucker Road Ice Rink for welcoming us into their rink to hold some school skate for fitness sessions while our outdoor location was out of commission. We loved every minute of it. And a big thank you to the Washington Capitals for providing transportation!

Giving Tuesday is December 3rd, and in just 8 months we'll be moving back into our permanent home on Ely Place, SE. Over the next few months, we'll be laying the groundwork to expand our programs to serve even more kids from all across DC, and especially those in Wards 7 and 8.
