This is a slip road onto the M2 motorway in Kent. But it could be anywhere in the country. The motorway network is a total cesspit and @NationalHways - with its £5 BILLION annual budget - doesn’t care what you think. It’s a national scandal that needs exposing.

@asentance My simple thinking (correct me please if misguided) is that economic growth provides revenue for the exchequer through increased corporation tax/income tax/VAT etc which can then fund government objectives/projects. Increasing taxation to do so acts to dampen economic growth,yes?

A magnificent night at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea beat Barcelona 3-0, and it could have been more. The fans were incredibly noisy, making for a brilliant atmosphere rewarded by an excellent performance from the Chelsea players.

@simonnread Financial institutions are keen to have senior FCA staff as Heads of Compliance or on their executive boards and are willing to pay good salaries - so FCA have to pay well just to keep them. Also FCA take experienced senior staff from the financial industry but have to match pay.
