Back in 1958, a physicist named William Higinbotham wanted to spice up the annual public tours at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He used an oscilloscope and an analog computer to create Tennis for Two. It was a simple side-view tennis match where players used knobs and buttons to hit a ball over a net. It was a massive hit with visitors and showed the world that computers could be for pure entertainment!
