@GIJoeRepairShop I did bid. I didn’t bid that much- I have three of them already with one MIB. I couldn’t justify that when I have the others. That would have been about $45,000 Canadian with the buyers premium & taxes. 😬

Picked up a MOC Canadian Battle Android Trooper originally sold at a Hart Department Store in Montreal in 1986. This particular BAT(S) has its lenticular sticker still attached, is offerless and unpunched. I have a few of these & personally love this iteration of the BAT!

Here’s one of my favourite Dreadnoks. I loved how Larry Hama depicted Donald in the comics- and this is one of the cool times that his “Code Name” is cool in English but even cooler in French. "Salopard" is a French vulgar noun used to describe a despicable, unscrupulous person who acts in a vile manner, akin to "bastard," "scumbag," or "scoundrel" in English. It is a highly derogatory term used as an insult, often referring to someone with poor moral character. It’s perfect! Anyone else a Road Pig / Salopard fan?

Was incredibly happy to pick these very early, very special 9 back American MOCs from Sears back in 1982. If you know, you know. I’ll be doing a bigger post about them in the future.

Going through boxes that came in the mail all last year. Picked up this Mexican Vagabundo… it’s kind of cool that they sold Footloose as Grunt down there who was his actual replacement in the figure line. I really like the Auriken boxes. Anyone else have love for Mexican Joes?

This is a sculpt of the pre-production Terror Drome Rampart used when Hasbro was designing the playset. It’s only a partial sculpt because they flipped it and duplicated it for the other half- it ended up being changed to a slightly different snake design in the finished product but it is still cool to have a piece of the original design in hand!

Added this minty AFA 80+ 1985 Quick Kick (or in French, Savate- which refers to a specific type of French kickboxing with shoes which is weird because Quick Kick has none!) 34 back, Canadian peach card and not super easy to come across. Yo Joe!

Here’s something you don’t see every day, and pretty much never. This is a Rubiplas (Venezuela) Skystriker- about as rare as the Rubiplas vehicles go. The plastic is far whiter than the US / Canadian release and I’m super happy to have it in my collection.

With all of the crazy stuff going on in the world right now I’ve found that I almost feel guilty with “taking solace” in my ‘Joe collection lately. I don’t want to get political or anything but it’s been pretty dismal out in the real world lately. I’m going to post some cool stuff for nothing else but to just maybe make some people feel that little feeling that we used to get when we opened a new toy or comic… please share some things from your own collections! Here’s my Trimpe original art pinup.

@ClassicGIJoe They replaced it with a different file card which is the far rarer one to have- the “paranoid schizophrenic” card is very common.

In 1985, Zartan was pulled off toy store shelves as "paranoid schizophrenic" was deemed offensive to the mentally ill and that it was an example of "insensitive and disgraceful marketing." Here is a newspaper article describing the event.

Chuckles is one of my favourite characters in the ‘Joe universe and when I was in South Africa these Australian based figures were just coming out as I was leaving. It was common to see Palitoy Action Force, Hasbro Action Force and Australian and New Zealand Action Man cards over there- as well as “stickered over” GIJoe cards. I wish I had grabbed a few before I left, I’ve been back tons of times but they are super hard to find now. This is an Australian Chuckles 1986 cardback- note the lack of “A Real American Hero” under the GIJoe logo on the front and back and the Hasbro address as being the US Pawtucket, RI one. I wish I had this one MOC, but this is pretty cool still. Yo Joe!

@GiCanadian I've never seen them. They're interesting to me since the "Snake Eyes" Action Force repaint character is supposed to just be a normal guy in these huge sunglasses.

This is a special pickup for me, when I was small my brothers and I all had a pair of these. When I saw the Canadian version pop up on EBay, I knew I had to grab it. I love stuff like this that immediately brings me right back to 1985 in a split second. Did anyone else have these? Yo Joe!

Canadian file card holder that came with the Sears exclusive Missile Command Center- the all cardboard Cobra “base.” These base was released in 1982 & carried over until 1983. These don’t come up often and are a neat glimpse into the time this was released- notably the 11 figures featured on the holder do not include Cobra Commander who actually came with the set and could have had a straight arm, straight arm “Mickey Mouse” early logo or the most common swivel arm release. The 11 figures featured on the card holder were the 11 available on regular cardbacks at the time. Anyone else a fan of the Missile Command Center? Yo Joe!
