Displaced families from Camalig, Albay in the Philippines 🇵🇭 received hygiene kits and other essential items from #EU humanitarian partners. The displaced vulnerable families have almost no means to sustain their needs while enduring ashfall due to volcanic calamity.

Super-typhoon Ragasa made landfall yesterday in the Philippines, enhancing the effects of southwest monsoon, causing widespread floods. More than 40 000 people are now displaced. #EU Humanitarian partners provide @eu_echo-funded rapid relief assistance in Kudarangan, Mindanao.

Floods have occured early in the year in the Philippines with heavy rain due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone. In Mindanao, @eu_echo partners activated Rapid Response Mechanism distributing food to affected Bangsamoro families wihin hours after the flood. 📷 @HInclusionph

As #EntengPH approaches Northern Luzon, schools & health centers in Cagayan implemented their asset protection strategy, part of the standard operating procedures for anticipatory action developed in the Disaster Risk Financing project through the support of @StartNetwork.

Flood and rain continue to impact 🇵🇭 especially Mindanao. Typhoon Gaemi just exited but a new weather system nears the south of Mindanao. About 185 000 households in the Bangsamoro region in Mindanao are affected. With @eu_echo funding support, @HInclusionph assists the people.

In response to the combined effects of Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon #CarinaPH, the ACCESS project conducted rapid needs assessment and risk education sessions on water-borne diseases to displaced families in Valenzuela City and San Mateo, Rizal.

With the support of Novo Nordisk and in partnership with Roche Diabetes Care, 90 children with type 1 diabetes from Metro Manila now have better access to their medical and other needs after receiving a three-month supply of insulin from the Changing Diabetes in Children project.

The Start Network Disaster Risk Financing consortium conducted a simulation exercise on the pre-identified at-risk households in Cagayan Valley & Eastern Samar. They tested the SOPs developed for cash distribution & asset protection based on anticipated cyclone scenarios.

With the support of UNICEF, 30 youth leaders from Cotabato City, Kabuntalan, and South Upi have increased their capacity to advocate climate actions in their respective organizations and municipalities.
