Year 5 are creating artwork using batik for our Halstow art project. It is inspired by Japanese artist Yukinori Yanagi.

Year 1 have been learning about different parts of the human body. It was great to see how many parts we could label, as our models were almost covered by the end!

There was lots of confident coding in Year 3 today where the children used Lego Spike to build a ticket machine with a colour sensor to detect the correct ticket. #STEMeducation #LEGO

Reception had some exciting visitors this week! We took park in a story-based workshop based on a classic @MichaelRosenYes book. Our @ZooLabUK presenter Lily was fantastic!

Halstow's art week is under way! This year the title is Connections. We are exploring connections to ourselves, our community and our world. Here we are creating papier-mâché globes. We can't wait to showcase the projects from across the school!

In Year 6, we’ve started rehearsals for our Leavers’ Musical - The Lion King! 🦁

Year 3 had a great visit to @Creekside_Trust Creekside Discovery Centre today to support their learning about rivers. They waded down Deptford Creek, learning about the geography, history and wildlife of the area. What a fantastic day!

Year 2 have been busy with their Monet-inspired Impressionist waterlily paintings in Art. We are looking forward to seeing his work next half term at the National Gallery!

We've been learning about all types of different joints in Year 1 and having been applying this knowledge to create some brilliant, sturdy boats in Art.

Year 3 used drama to retell the story of Little Red Riding Hood today. They portrayed the characters, scenery and props by themselves. Can you guess which scene they are freeze-framing?

Year 4 are learning how to play cricket.

Year 1 always look forward to their gymnastics coaching in PE on Fridays. We will be cartwheeling pros soon!

In D & T, Year 4 have been designing high energy cereal bars for people working in extreme conditions, such as the Antarctic. We decided to name our product, the ‘Beowulf Bar’, because we believe it has enough slow burning carbohydrates to sustain even the toughest heroes.

Year 1 was very excited to get some top clues from one of Greenwich Park's gardeners to find their missing trees - and to have a close up look of some tulip bulbs!

Year 1 enjoyed a beautiful sunny day at Greenwich Park hunting for many different types of trees!

Year 4 have been investigating pitch in our science learning about sound.
