Aaron Paul revealed he turned down returning as Powerplex in Invincible Season 4. He said he loves the show and is a big fan, but playing that character was too mentally exhausting and emotionally heavy for him. Sometimes the hardest roles aren’t live action they stay with you after the mic turns off.

Maul presenting himself as this unflappable, powerful gangster, when on the inside he is dealing with so much unprocessed trauma, is such a strong story choice. Maul bottles up all his pain and turns it into anger. He believes that this is the emotion that will get the most done.
