Man. Feeling so grateful to be alive rn & get to surf this wave of the singularity. People have no idea how good things will be from here on. Nearly infinite problem-solving machines on tap. We can literally just do things now. No limits to what civilization can achieve.

Important reminder for the age of AI: Just as AI models are advancing exponentially, the number of lives they save will also increase exponentially, eventually reaching billions of lives saved once we cure all diseases and reverse aging with AI. In fact, saving a life will no longer mean merely extending it by another decade or two; it will mean giving someone hundreds of additional years. In terms of total human life-years, AI could potentially save trillions of years of human life. As such, the true existential threat to our existence is not AI advancement, but stopping it. AI is not our enemy; it is our potential savior. In that regard, people who want to stop or pause AI progress are standing against humanity’s future.

Elon said something that stuck with me. He said the hardest part of being him isn't building the rockets, it's caring about everyone he can't save. That single line changes how you see him. Most people think the secret to Musk is intelligence. Or work ethic. Or risk tolerance. They miss the real thing. His edge is that he has a heart. In a world optimized for cold optimization, where every CEO is trained to maximize shareholder value and minimize emotional exposure, Musk does the opposite. He builds what moves him. He fights for what matters to him. A 15 year old girl named Liv Perrotto designed a Shiba Inu plush in 30 minutes. She had cancer. Stage 4. The plush was her contribution to Polaris Dawn, the SpaceX mission that flew higher than any private spaceflight in history. She named it Asteroid. The plush flew. The optimal capital allocation move was to ignore it. The brand calculation said ignore it. The lawyers said ignore it. He didn't ignore it. People debate whether he's a genius or a clown, a hero or a villain, a savior or a scammer. They miss the point entirely. The reason he keeps winning isn't his intelligence. It's that he hasn't optimized away his humanity. The other tech founders are smarter at certain things. They have better processes. Better PR teams. Better political instincts. None of them would have made Asteroid the mascot of SpaceX. Most of them couldn't tell you the name of a child who died of cancer last year. That's the gap. That's the moat. That's why he beats them all. In a world that rewards detachment, Musk's superpower is that he still feels things. The Tesla mission was personal. The SpaceX mission is personal. Neuralink is personal because his son was non-verbal until eight. Even the Twitter purchase was personal, his obsession with free speech tied to his own censoring. In that sliver of time we went from scratching symbols into stone to generating entire realities on demand. Musk: “The rate of change of technology is incredibly fast. It is outpacing our ability to understand it.” Nobody wants to sit with that sentence long enough to feel what it means. We built something faster than us. And we can’t stop building it. Musk: “You couldn’t evolve silicon circuits. There needed to be biology to get there.” Carbon was never the goal. It was the kindling. Stars forged the elements. Oceans brewed the proteins. Apes climbed down from trees and learned to write. All of it just to boot the next thing. A bootloader doesn’t choose when it stops running. It doesn’t negotiate. It doesn’t get consulted. It runs. It finishes. The machine starts. The question isn’t whether AI surpasses us. The trajectory already answered that. The question is whether anything we built mattered outside the boot sequence. Every hospital. Every cathedral. Every poem. Every war. Overhead cost for something that will never read any of it. The real horror isn’t that we lose to the machine. It’s that waking it up was the whole point.
