Update/Advisory, March 19, 2026 ·         Qatar Airways operated 10 flights to Indian destinations today. As advised by Qatar Airways earlier, flight ticket bookings can be made through Qatar Airways website, App or through travel agents.   ·      CBSE announced its assessment scheme for declaration of Class 10 results for students in the Middle East region. CBSE had earlier cancelled the remaining Class 10 examinations in view of the prevailing regional situation. Ambassador held a discussion regarding the assessment scheme and other issues related to Indian schools in Qatar with the Principals of the Indian schools. ·        Embassy re-emphasizes the need to closely follow and abide by the guidelines and advisories issued by the Qatari authorities. Indian community is requested to limit activities to family visits and small gatherings, and adhering fully to the instructions and guidelines issued by the competent authorities with a view to enhance public safety and ensure that Eid is observed in a safe and reassuring manner. ****

Spoke with my brother, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, and conveyed warm Eid greetings to him and the people of Qatar. Reiterated that we stand in solidarity with Qatar and strongly condemn the attacks on the region’s energy infrastructure. Expressed gratitude for the care and support provided to the Indian community and hoped for peace and stability to prevail in the region. Ambassador @vipulifs today held a meeting with the Principals of Indian schools in Doha to discuss details regarding the declaration of Class X CBSE Exam results. CBSE will inform about the assessment procedure for Class XII exams later. The meeting also discussed issues pertaining to the upcoming JEE and NEET exams. The participants in the meeting thanked Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education for timely updates to schools and stressed the important role of schools and teachers in the mental well-being of students during the current difficult times. @MEAIndia @IndianDiplomacy

Update/Advisory (1900 hrs, March 18, 2026) ·         Qatar Airways operated 9 flights to various destinations of India today. In total, about 2600 Indian nationals travelled on Qatar Airways flights today. As advised by Qatar Airways earlier, flight ticket bookings can be made through Qatar Airways website, App or through travel agents.   ·       Embassy has seen a steady decline in the number of phone calls and email queries being received in its Control Room as more flights have become available from Qatar to various destinations in India. However, the Embassy continues to operate the Control Room with its helplines, email and WhatsApp on a 24/7 basis to address queries and concerns.   ·        Embassy urges the Indian community to closely follow and abide by the guidelines and advisories issued by the Qatari authorities. Everyone should comply with precautionary measures while holding social events, including weddings and condolence gatherings. Authorities have emphasised that such events must be held only in indoor halls and enclosed venues to avoid potential risks to public safety. ****

In current conflict situation, Indian Fishermen who work in Qatar have also faced some livelihood challenges. Update/Advisory (1730hrs, March 17, 2026) ·         Qatar Airways operated five flights to India today. These included two flights to Delhi and one each to Mumbai, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. In total, about 1600 Indian nationals travelled on Qatar Airways flights today.   ·         It may be noted that Qatar airspace remains largely closed and Qatar Airways is only operating limited, non-scheduled flights. It has announced flights to nine Indian destinations from tomorrow. As advised earlier, bookings can be made through Qatar Airways website, App or through travel agents.   ·         Embassy of India, Doha continues to facilitate temporary transit visas for Saudi Arabia for stranded Indian nationals who wish to travel to India via Saudi Arabia through land route across Salwa border.   ·         Embassy of India, Doha will be open on all days in the coming week for consular services including issuance of passports. Embassy’s Control Room with its helplines, email and WhatsApp continues to function on a 24/7 basis.   ·         Qatari authorities have reiterated that adhering to the instructions issued by official authorities and demonstrating awareness and social responsibility in handling information and developments are fundamental pillars in enhancing public safety and maintaining community stability. The Indian community is requested to abide by this public notice.   ·         Indian community organizations and the Embassy have collaborated to support the needy Indian fishermen community in Qatar with provision of dry rations. ****

Update/Advisory, March 16, 2026, 1800 hrs ·         About 1100 Indian passengers travelled to New Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi and other destinations on Qatar Airways flights on March 16. Flights to these destinations are also planned for March 17. ·         Qatar Airways has announced that it will be operating flights to the following destinations in India from March 18 - Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kozhikode and Mumbai. ·         Qatar Airways and local authorities have directed that to book flights and for the latest flight updates, passengers can visit the Qatar Airways website or App, or contact a travel agent. ·         In view of the enhanced flight availability on Qatar Airways and the local guidelines, the Embassy will be shortly closing the registration link for transit/short-term visitors wishing to travel back to India on Qatar Airways flights. Passengers are advised to further liaise directly with Qatar Airways for their travel arrangements. ·         Embassy of India continues facilitation of temporary transit visas for Saudi Arabia for Indian nationals stranded in Qatar on short-term visits if they wish to travel to India through Saudi Arabia.
