@Crossy_C98 I mostly got over it when I interpreted that God&religion in the story is treated as the ultimate form of slavery, so it still fits well to the game's overall themes

@Crossy_C98 The Tactics DNA is so clear that I audibly groaned when I realized the interesting political intrigue side of the plot would be tossed away in favor of yet another "let's beat up God" story 😜

The narrative and characters of 16 are absolutely classic Nintendo era FF and Tactics/Ivalice pilled. Gameplay aside and focusing just on the story, it is unquestionably the most reverent of the classics we have had in decades besides 14's theme park of references

@Keilaido From what I've heard, same has been happening to Vtubers too. Not many bother with having a character with lore anymore, the avatar is just that, an avatar for the streamer

People don't do character bits on YouTube anymore. You don't see game reviewers with an evil doppelganger telling them to play sonic 06 anymore. Why is that?

@FirstMagicWitch @adelheidx333 Snark itself was very very serious with Aoko (otherwise it wouldn't have been dragged into a mana tug-of-war battle with her, ignoring all attempts by Alice to stop), but yeah, against Touko it would have been the Snark fighting alongside Alice the whole time

@adelheidx333 We don’t know the full capabilities of flat snark. But what we do know is that Yumina and all the Meinster witches before Alice has fought alongside the snark. Flat snark wasn’t serious with Aoko but with Touko and Beowulf he will be. I can see him winning.

I noticed Touko mentioned alot how she was glad Alice didn't have her moon ploy so my question is, did Touko really have no way of defeating it ? I assume Beo can't jump to where the Moon is and I doubt Touko has any spells of sort that could reach that far ?

@IncarnatedFiend God Hand is represented through his bond CE, but he has to use a limited form of it so it doesn't kill Fujimaru or whatever, as Fujimaru isn't a mana battery homunculus creature like Illya lol

@Lord_Joez @StillSlumbering even if he doesn’t have anything like that, medea and kuzuki show that as long as the servant is powerful enough and the master skilled enough a caster can easily buff a completely magic circuit free man to servant levels of strength

@nadnerbus @tharathamrong @Authw8 Yeah, I was more meaning that we never get to see the shields deflect a similar ramming attempt before that happens. The effectiveness of the shields is never demonstrated well to show that these crazy tactics wouldn't work without significant prep beforehand

@InstallWiz @tharathamrong @Authw8 They show the shield generator get blown up in ROTJ by two Y wings, followed by dialogue on the bridge explaining the bridge deflector shields are down. Then the admiral even emphasizes it by saying, "intensify forward batteries, I don't want anything to get through."

between this and the holdo maneuver i feel like i need to sit down and talk to movie writers about military tactics. if you're going to introduce a "clever" maneuver to win a battle, you need to have a reason it wouldn't ordinarily work, or at least a reason nobody's thought of it before. and the answer probably shouldn't be "it's super dangerous" because war is already very dangerous. if a tactic works, people are going to use it. plus in any sort of modern or sci-fi setting, anything a ship with a crew can do can probably be copied by a specialized design that pilots itself or is piloted remotely. actual "clever" maneuvers on the battlefield are more likely to be opportunistic. a commander notices an unusual situation and improvises an unexpected solution. or you make use of local knowledge the other side doesn't have. or you read the terrain better and end up in a favorable battlefield position. or you notice a mistake the enemy made and exploit it ruthlessly. but in order for the maneuver to be cool, you need to explain why it isn't normally possible. otherwise you just make one side look sort of dumb for not seeing it coming.

@InstallWiz @emperortoho @Greencell161541 @rccg56 No. They summon personas irl before and after Maki’s alternate world. And in P2 they were summoning personas irrespective of the rumour stuff and even outside of Sumaru city as well

everyone calls sumi a mary sue meanwhile the very first thing the game tells you is that persona users can't have palaces but maruki is just sooo special,

@emperortoho @Greencell161541 @rccg56 Tbf wasn't Persona&demon summoning only possible in P1 in Maki's dream reality, and in P2 due to Nyarly's whole "rumors coming true" bit? Like once things get back to normal, they wouldn't be able to summon them normally again?

@tharathamrong @Authw8 The movies consistently do quite a bad job at visually showing the effects of shields, unfortunately. Like for ex in Ep6 if the Super Star Destroyer still had its shields online, there's no way a single A-Wing could ram its entire bridge. But this isn't really shown either...

@Authw8 This particular ramming only works because the following sequence happens first; 1. An X-wing take out both of one of the Star destroyer shield generators. 2. A squadron of Y-wing hit it with Ion torpedoes, disabled it 3. Admiral Raddus see the opening and send in the Hammerhead.

@Greencell161541 @rccg56 NGL I'm always fascinated by these differences. Like how in P4A the P4 characters are weirded out by how P3 characters *can* use Personas in the real world

@rccg56 Well (iirc) Morgana says Palace rulers can't have personas because in the Metaverse personas are awoken by defying a Palace ruler. But Maruki awoken his persona through extreme psycholgical stress (the p3 way). The PTs didn't know this way of awakening
