In the 2010s it was 50-50 or even more tilted towards women, and social justice work prior to joining the FBI became a more and more common background. BUT -- there was another feature to this that is almost never addressed, but I heard about it and saw it. While the Special Agent work force became more female, a married female agent with children became a Unicorn in the work force. So, if you have 50-50 recruiting classes with college educated females, but almost none of whom are married females with children, what kind of work force are you building?
