I just bought final fantasy 7 remake for the switch 2
I was about the same age as my son is now when I played final fantasy 7

I know I joke a lot. But I also feel genuinely sad about Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth
They ruined Aeris’s death scene in ways you wouldn’t believe
They took one of the most emotional scenes in video game history, and turned it into one of the most confusing
Anyone who thinks it’s all going to pay off in Part 3 is on pure cope. Even if she’s really dead, all that means is they added extra steps to an otherwise perfect scene
They say “Less Is More”

Cloud describing how he feels in the moment is what got me the most. Up until this point theres not a single moment where Cloud is presented to have strong emotions like this and seeing it here is gutwrenching 💔 I’m really sad Rebirth decided not to include this bit

@Sebbywebz @JefDrouin I feel @Sebbywebz is often misunderstood around this topic.
He has nothing against FF VII in general, I would argue it’s actually one of his favorites.
But you can’t hate him simply because he is very sceptical about it.
I don’t think the remake is what fans were rooting for.

There’s nothing wrong with mini-games when they’re optional & fun
But when you “remake” a 5-minute section into a 2-hour slog with the one of the worst minigames of all time, it becomes a problem

@PeterP_1985 @finalfantasyvii I kind of view it as a sequel. Sephiroth is definitely aware that he’s lost to these guys before, meaning the events of the OG happened in this timeline.
Without getting into spoilers, one other character is also very aware of what happens also.

Alongside KCD2 on PC, I have also been playing through Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on the PS5 Pro.
Once I stopped thinking of it as a remake of one of my favourite games of all time, and started to treat it as a re-imagining, my enjoyment for it increased hugely.
Also, very glad a dropped this on the base PS5 after a few hours at launch, as this is a game that is a LOT better on the Pro

People like this guy talk about Expedition 33 like it is the only good JRPG to ever be made, that everything else is just slop... But Bravely Default brought me to tears, while, on the other hand, I played through Expedition 33 from beginning to end and I felt nothing.

There's a reason no one takes the JRPG community seriously They call Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 "mid", "slop" and "baby's first JRPG" At the same time, they say games that look like they were made for literal babies "peak" Look at these two scenes. See if you can spot the difference: Do you really think the only thing that sets these apart is that one has realistic graphics, and the other doesn't? E33 elevated the genre. But instead of celebrating it, the worst side of the JPRG community tried to tear it down
