bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-p… Zelensky’s presence outside Ukraine isn’t just a giant finger gesture at his country’s tormentors. He’s more than a statesman or a figurehead. He is Ukraine, defiant, free and still standing. A warrior of light.

Trump is, again, lying about shortages of ammunition for the war against Iran due to some imaginary supplies to Ukraine. Here are some facts: The kinds of weapons we are using to strike Iran were NEVER sent to Ukraine: PrSM (entered service in 2024), LUCAS drones (brand new), Tomahawks (Trump talked about sending some, never did), and of course B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, F-22 Raptors, and F-35s -- obviously none were ever transferred to Ukraine. The only weapons one might plausibly refer to would be ATACMS: the entire stock we deigned to send Ukraine was about 50 rounds (we had used 800 in the opening days of the Iraq invasion). The US used over 20 weapons systems to hit over 1,000 targets simultaneously during the opening hours of Operation Epic Fury. An estimated 300 Tomahawks were used and the Pentagon ordered... 57 new ones in the current fiscal year. There have been no deliveries of THAAD interceptors since 2023 and no new orders were placed this year. The military will get 39 in 2027, six years after ordering them. If we are running short on ammunition, it's because the people ordering this war did not plan adequately for contingencies and spent like drunken sailors, not because of our (really nonexistent for the past year) aid to Ukraine. Our big problem is that right now, we are still using extremely expensive systems like Patriots ($3-4 million per missile) and NASAMS/AMRAAM interceptors ($0.8-1.2 million per missile) to combat mass-produced $20,000 Shahed drones. This asymmetric exchange ratio between offense and defense is what kept analysts at night during the Cold War and why eventually defense systems would be scrapped for being too easily overwhelmed by numbers despite being technologically superior. Ukraine has been fighting and innovating precisely to deal with the asymmetric offense capabilities of Russia for years, and they have learned how to do it. But when they offered to help us last year, the Trump administration arrogantly brushed them aside. Now we are squandering premier weapons designed to stop ballistic missiles on cheap drones. And we can't keep doing it no matter how wealthy we are. Missiles take months, sometimes years, to make, while drones can be mass produced in weeks. You lose wars not when the offense peaks --- as the current bombing afficionados at the White House have you believe with their nonstop meming about raining destruction on Iran -- but when your defense capacity is stretched to its limits and cannot cope with things that keep coming at it.

By providing drone support to the Israeli regime, failed Ukraine has effectively become involved in the War and, under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, has turned its entire territory into a legitimate target for Iran.

When Zelenskyy addressed EU leaders in Brussels today, the Budapest barrel couldn't bear to sit and listen. Orbán deliberately left his seat to stand at the back on the room. In 3 weeks he may (hopefully) have to permanently leave his seat as Hungary's PM 🙏

More cultural vandalism from Russia tonight. In Crimea, the neo-colonials are tearing down the rotunda in Alushta, on the south coast of the occupied territory.

Russia is back to violating NATO airspace - a provocation and a test. As usual, the defence allies do nothing. The terrorists' Su-30 entered Estonian airspace and refused to respond to warnings. This prompted an Italian air force unit stationed at Emari to take to the skies.

Today, Russia sentenced Ukrainian teenagers to years of imprisonment. Viktor Azarovskyi — 8 years and 6 months. Oleh Shokol — 7 years and 6 months. Denys Vasylyk — 7 years. Children from an occupied territory were accused of “terrorism” and tried as citizens of the Russian Federation. On March 19, 2026, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don delivered its verdict against three teenagers from the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol. At the time of their detention in the fall of 2023, they were only 16–17 years old. For more than two years, they were unlawfully held in inhumane conditions, subjected to beatings, torture, and psychological pressure. hey were transferred between multiple detention facilities, including Detention Center No. 2 in Mariupol and Detention Center No. 2 in Taganrog, which is known for the severe abuse of Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war. According to Viktor Azarovskyi’s lawyer, his health significantly deteriorated in Taganrog: he was unable to sleep or eat, and his hands were covered in severe skin lesions. Despite the unlawful transfer of the teenagers from occupied territory and the questionable nature of the evidence, Russia brought serious charges against them. The trial was held behind closed doors, without access for independent observers or international organizations. This is not justice. This is the persecution of children and a war crime. Russia systematically uses unlawful detention, torture, and sham trials as tools of pressure against Ukrainian children, in violation of international humanitarian law. That is why the return of every Ukrainian child remains an unconditional priority for Ukraine. #BringKidsBack

“They raised their hands in surrender — and were shot.” — from the official report. In March 2022, russian troops executed three unarmed teenagers in Mokhnatyn, Chernihiv region: 17-year-old twins Yevhen and Bohdan Samodii, and their friend Valentyn Yakymchuk, 18. Their sister, Zahatna, described the horror: “I ran up to Yevhen, but he was already cold… Valentyn was gone too, his body torn by bullets.” Bohdan was still alive. “I realized we couldn’t save Yevhen, but we had to save Bohdan… He promised me he’d make it.” He died on the way to the hospital. “They were my everything… dearer than anything else,” she said. “They just went to thank a neighbor for bread.” Afterwards, Zahatna brought the blood-soaked bandages used to cover her brothers’ wounds to their father in Poland. “He kissed those bandages and cried over them.”

“Why are the russians doing this to Ukraine? Because they can, because the world has allowed them to.” Testimony of Taira (Yuliya Payevska) to the US Helsinki Commission. She was captured and imprisoned by russians on March 16, 2022 and released on June 17, 2022. ▪️ Taira about herself: "My name is Yuliya Payevska. By profession, I am a graphic designer, as well as the president of one of the Aikido federations of Ukraine. Russians call me a Nazi. This is what they call everyone who opposes them, or simply does not want to see russia in Ukraine. I spent the first 20 days of this war in Mariupol, which turned into hell. After that, I spent 3 months in russian captivity. And it was hell too." ▪️ About the proposal to commit suicide: "When my executioners suggested that I commit suicide, I said no. I wanted to see what would happen tomorrow, I wondered how far they would go in their madness and malice. And then one day, when it seemed that there was no hope, someone looked into the window and called my name. "Take your things and go out" — that's how my path to freedom began. ▪️About those who remained in russian captivity: "Pregnant prisoners whose fate is unknown neither to their families nor to the state. A soldier who was beaten for three hours and then thrown into the basement like a sack, and only a day later someone came to him." ▪️ About horrors in Mariupol: "A dead child in his mother's arms, a seven-year-old boy with a gunshot wound dying in my arms because I cannot stop his death. Prisoners screaming for weeks in their cells, dying of torture in hellish agony. I remember my friend's eyes, which I closed before his body went cold, and another friend, and another, and another... I saw half a million people dying under air strikes. Air strikes on hospitals and residential areas. A hospital full of wounded people, with no medicine. Surgeons and medical staff sleeping for three hours a day as operations followed one after another. Medical evacuation vehicles arriving every 5 to 10 minutes, with the living and the dead lying on top of each other. Cars that are on fire with people inside. Police officers pulling women and children from the rubble, mutilated beyond recognition. People collecting water from puddles. Dogs that were once pets dragging human limbs around the city." ▪️About questions from the executioner: "One of my executioners asked me: "Do you know why I do this to you?" I answered: "Because you can." He did not expect such an answer. But it is true. They do it because they can. Because their leaders told them they had the right to do so. Because once they were allowed to. Because the world gave them such permission. The world was silent, watching the crimes of the russians in Georgia, Syria and so on."

Daria Bazylevych would have turned 20 today 💔 Instead, a Russian missile stole her future — and the lives of her mother, Yevhenia, and her sisters, Yaryna and Emilia. She is remembered as cheerful, determined, and loving.
