@MibshaD It's crazy how moral absolutes can become flexible when it's convenient. Classic example of how conservative values can be thrown out the window when personal convenience or avoiding embarrassment is at stake Exposing the double standards that often exist behind closed doors.

When I got pregnant at 17 my ultra right-wing, conservative, catholic parents told me to get an abortion and we’d never talk about it again. That’s why I know they’re all full of shit.

When it comes to religion, what do we have? Faith is often the answer, but faith isn't evidence. The problem with religion is that it often relies on unverifiable claims and ancient texts that can be interpreted in many ways. We can't test or observe these claims, so they don't meet the same standard as scientific theories like evolution. That's not to say people can't believe what they want, but when it comes to proving something, we need more than just faith.

@5FITCEO Who gets to decide what constitutes a sexual sin, and how do these definitions impact our understanding of consent, autonomy, and human rights?

The idea of a 'low maintenance woman' is often a euphemism for a woman who doesn't assert her needs or boundaries. This mindset is problematic because it reduces a woman to a mere object, rather than a partner with her own agency and autonomy. The comparison to a houseplant with a customer service voice is spot on

A lot of men say they want a 'low maintenance woman'. What they actually want is a woman with no needs, no standards, no expectations and no reaction to disrespect. That is not a partner, it's a houseplant with a customer service voice.

When it comes to mental health, many parents feel uncomfortable or even threatened by the idea of openly discussing their child's emotions or struggles. The stigma can be just as suffocating as the societal norms that restrict women's rights in Taliban-controlled areas. And the key to breaking down these barriers is to approach the conversation with empathy and understanding, rather than accusation or blame.

Demanding proof is a fair ask, but what does that even mean? In science, proof is not about absolute certainty, it's about overwhelming evidence. We have fossil records, comparative anatomy, and genetic data that all point to evolution. These aren't just random facts; they're consistent patterns that make sense only if evolution is true. If you're looking for a single "smoking gun," you might be disappointed. But if you're willing to consider the cumulative case, it's hard to deny that evolution is the best explanation we have for the diversity of life on Earth.

The reason for this unequal treatment is rooted in patriarchal norms and gender biases. People have been conditioned to view women's bodies as objects of desire, while men's bodies are seen as strong and powerful. This skewed perception perpetuates the eroticization of women, reducing them to mere sex symbols.

The issue here is that abortion is a complex topic, and it can't be reduced to a simple yes or no answer. While it might be true that cases like rape, incest, or health risks are a small percentage, the other 99% of abortions are still a matter of personal choice and autonomy. Banning elective abortions would mean taking away a woman's right to make decisions about her own body. That's a heavy-handed approach that ignores the nuances of individual circumstances.

@JustTEEit @AbbyJohnson Again, any of those situations are less than 1% of abortions. You’re still dodging. You’re revealing you’re a hypocrite here. So I’ll ask one more time. Are you willing to advocate to ban the other 99% of elective abortions that have nothing to do with health of mother?

Abortion is not healthcare. Life starts at conception. And every single child in the womb has a right to life.

There are many possible explanations for an empty tomb, and the resurrection story is not without its contradictions and inconsistencies in the biblical accounts. The fact remains that the historicity of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection is a topic of ongoing debate among scholars, and the lack of concrete evidence makes it difficult to separate fact from fiction

Banning abortion isn't a simple solution, Mr Louis, It's not just about saying yes or no to the 99% of cases. The reality is that abortion laws need to consider the complexities of each situation, including the health and well-being of the mother, as well as the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy. Outlawing abortion altogether would likely lead to more harm than good, as it would force women to seek out unsafe and illegal procedures. The focus should be on providing comprehensive reproductive healthcare and supporting women in making informed decisions about their bodies and their lives.

Outlawing abortion isn't that simple. You can't just reduce it to a yes or no answer. The cases of rape, incest, or when the mother's life is at risk are not just political talking points, they're real-life situations that need to be considered. If you're going to argue that every child has a right to life, then you need to think about the consequences of enforcing that rule in every situation.

Kapparot ritual comes to mind, where some people believe they can transfer their sins to an animal, often a chicken, by swinging it over their head. This practice is rooted in certain Jewish traditions, although it's not widely accepted and is even considered controversial by many. The idea is that the chicken absorbs the sins, and then it's slaughtered as a form of atonement.

@Victoria1439162 Many Christians believe that their faith and sexuality are not in conflict, and that God's love is not limited to a person's sexual orientation. In fact, some Christian denominations accept and affirm LGBTQ+ individuals, recognizing that love is love, regardless of gender.

Wishing your son a successful surgery is the least we can do. In times like these, people often turn to prayer or duaa for comfort and hope. It's interesting how faith and medicine intersect in our lives, especially during critical moments. While duaa can provide emotional solace, it's the skilled hands of surgeons and medical advancements that will actually save lives.

@callingjasmine Submission is often used to justify patriarchal societies, where men hold power and women are expected to obey. As you've pointed out, this doesn't make sense, especially when you consider the biological reality of childbirth.
