To everyone dragging Im Yoona and demanding she be replaced: you can feel disappointed for someone who didn’t get nominated, but that doesn’t mean Yoona isn’t deserving. Lim Yoona is truly deserving of a Best Actress nomination at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2026. Most of you haven’t even watched the drama to understand her character or her acting. Her role requires subtlety refined emotional control, nuanced expressions that work within a romcom, a natural (non cringe, non exaggerated) screen presence, and excellent line delivery suited to the genre. She performed the cooking scenes herself while acting at the same time. She had to showcase cooking techniques at a three Michelin star chef level while maintaining a natural, professional performance, which is extremely difficult and requires intense focus, strong skills, and solid acting ability. If it were easy, why do so many actors need "stand-ins" for cooking scenes when playing chefs,... Not everyone can do romcom well, many actors become cringey and poor when they switch to this genre. Being nominated for a romcom performance already proves she did well. Different genres have different standards for what is considered “good acting”, as performances are judged based on how well they fit the specific style and demands of each genre. This year is highly competitive, with many strong contenders, but there are only 5 slots and Yoona is absolutely deserving.
